Who Will Be King ? More like Who'll be Queen ! as Michelle Payne becomes the first
ever Female Jockey to win the race aboard Prince Of Penzance the 100-1 outsider

we wanted pace in the Derby and we got it, the pace here was a farce, more like a
dodgem car race with several serious incidents,

all our thoughts are with Big Red though, pull through Boy !

    It's Oaks Day !

The Fillies go at it today in the Oaks and it should be a beauty of a race.
we have 'Jameka' who beat home the Derby Champ at her latest outing and "Sacred Eye',
who beat home the Derby Runner-Up at her latest outing, what a clash !

'Ambience' is the up and comer who has a bit of dash about her, she's one to watch,
'Pasadena Girl' and 'Dawnie Perfect' have been going ok recently and 'Dulverton' looks
a stayer that will appreciate the mile and a half at Flemington.

♥ and it's Great news that Red Cadeaux is up and about today !

The Japan Cup is on this weekend and as usual, it's a tricky affair,
Good old Epi baby got up for us last year so we'll give it another go.

The Hot Fav is 'Lovely Day' he's drawn an inside barrier again and will
likely be in the firing line most of the way, the old warhorse 'Gold Ship'
is Japan's Pin Up Horse and is likely to get back to near last and animate
the Giant crowd when he makes that mid race move around the field, he's
likely to need more ground these days and the big field won't help.

'Trip to Paris' has made a trip to Tokyo after running 2nd in the Caulfield
Cup and 4th in the Melbourne Cup, he was Red Cadeaux's stablemate, a lot of
sentiment there if he managed to win.

The French Horse 'Erupt' is not one of mine but he did finish 5th in the Arc
right alongside Treve, a hard fast run race might be too much for him.

The Filly 'Mikki Queen' is flying, she takes on the boys for the first time here

'Ito' the German horse is a natural front runner, he races in the same colours
Ivanhowe did and is the likely leader.

there's a few i like at the Big odds 'Shonan Pandora' if the pace is really fast
he can storm over the top of them, watch out for him,
also 'Sounds of Earth' is racing well

and at Very Big Odds 'Last Impact' his last two runs have been way below par,
but he did beat epiphaneia home the race after last years Japan Cup, he's having his
2nd run in a month this time, he's only ever had 2 runs in a month twice before and
won both times. a fast pace will suit him.

    Bring it On !

Shonan Pandora takes out the Japan Cup !

Last Impact looked the winner in the closing stages till Shonan Pandora
got clear late and pounced right on the line, Lovely Day ran 3rd

..the pace was fast and the trifecta paid huge !

The Sun's Out and the Carnival begins !

The Action hots up with the Randwick Guineas today, 'Press Statement'
is the hottest of favourites for the race, the Randwick mile is the toughest
in Sydney and he would appreciate a moderate pace.

the NZ'ers could hold the key to the race as they are the speed, 'Dal Cielo'
and 'Mackintosh' if they put the pace right on, with 'Shards' pushing them, the
Favourite could find it a bit tougher this time,

i've backed 'Montaigne' and 'Tulsa' at Big odds to run good races hopefully off that
    fast pace,

The Filly 'Stay with Me' won her Guineas the same day 'Press Statement' did last season
off a fast pace, she also has a chance today

as George Simon would say... Bring it On !

Le Romaine takes out the Guineas !

the pace was ok without being overly quick, but the shortest price
favourite for ages was beaten, Le Romaine who ran 2nd to Press Statement
last time at the shorter trip just kept on keeping on after a wide run
throughout, and Montaigne got a mile back and flashed home late.

    a Great days racing overall.

    Australian Cup Day !

'Bow Creek' is Flying and he's the one to beat, Given the right run in
a race he has a scintillating finish, the spacious Flemington course should
suit him well, as it should 'Our Ivanhowe', we've backed Our Ivanhowe from
Germany to France to his great 3rd in the Caulfield Cup, he was a little unlucky
behind Bow Creek last time on the tight track.
..we'll back him Again and see him in Sydney next month

The Filly 'Fenway' and 'Preferment could go well also.

Preferment takes out the Cup ! (Sorta)

it was a jog and trot, a bit of a farce, with Awesome Rock leading and
Preferment alongside, and the fav's well back in the sticky no-go zone
on the fence, Preferment eventually got the race on protest.

Day 1 of the Championships.. Derby Day !

The Derby Champ from the Spring 'Tarzino' is the Hot Fav to take
out another Derby, The Champion Filly from the Spring 'Jameka' is
the one to beat, she'll be there in the firing line most of the way.

i've had a little something on 'Vanbrugh' at the Good Odds, he recently
finished just behind them in the Guineas, he was the Sydney Champ in the
Spring and was the Fav for the Derby back then before being put away for
    the Autumn.. It's Autumn.

'Tally' has put a few wins together in Melbourne and could run well here,

The NZ'ers 'What's The Story' and 'Tavago' ran really well in the NZ Derby
and will be looking for an upset Victory, i backed Tavago at 50's last week
    for this,

'Etymology' and 'Torgerson' have some place prospects.

    Bring it On !

Tavago Storms to Derby Victory !!

Jameka and Tarzino took over rounding the turn, but Tavago was right there
to pounce and shot away from the field beating Jameka and Tally.
