    Default "Monkey me" preorder available!

Next album of Mylène Farmer, "Monkey me", will be released on December 11th (this year, of course ). Preorders are already available (at least on Amazon).

Will you buy it? Have you listened to the A l'ombre single?

I have listened to the single and didn't like it. In fact, I'm not really fond of any newest MF's works... I'm sure I will not pre-order "Monkey me", I prefer buying it in Polish shop if I do buy it. Well, I will see. I hope the album will be better than it seems to me now.

Me neither (about being fond of anything made by MF/LB in last few years) - but I think that I will preorder Monkey me, just because I`ve missed every single album in the past (I didn`t even know MF/LB existed!)

Slightly? This song is extraordinary. Personally I think it's the best Mylène song post-MCE.

^OK, more than slightly. It still has to grow on me. But seems the new album might be much better than I expected.

My favorite songs are the philosophical ones, and this certainly looks like one. You can tell from the video; with Mylene the videos are in *almost* every case complementary to the lyrics. I think Quand is a beautiful song in whatever way it might be interpreted, but I'll share some of my ideas.

Consider some things we take for granted about the world. We experience our own body, mind, and senses. If somebody else sits next to us, our experience is still limited by the physical boundary where our body ends and theirs begins. You could say this is the source of all conflict in the world. Some of us who think about philosophy wonder if this is unnatural, and that the universe is artificially withholding information and experiences (or metaphorically, words...) from us.

    Quand translation: http://mf-international.com/viewtopic.php?p=158507
(Note the interpretation at the top is different from mine. I'm not saying it's wrong, though)

It's probably good to consider the context of "Laisse le vent emporter tout", especially at "Pour mener ta vie. ... Dans le vent j'entends Tes renoncements, la mélodie dure, se répand".

I must say that this single got me by surprise... I think I need to reopen my FB account (if only for the good guys in the Mylène Farmer Serbian fan group ), cannot risk more such surprises in the future

Well, my first impression is --> Point de Suture with an echo from the late 80s / early 90s (I`ve read about references to Giorgino on MF international). What does this reference to Giorgino mean about Laurent`s next movie (I think it will be something about second world war, Einsatzgruppen if I remember correctly)? Is he once again bold enough to create something as deep as Giorgino? I hope so!

Anyway, about Quand, once again I got my hopes up about the Monkey me album! Thank you Mylène, now I won't be able to sleep and I am already over my Mastercard limit

EDIT: Chomenor, I`ve seen you haven`t posted what you wrote here also on mf-international -> do consider reposting it also there. Any real discussion of lyrics will go on there.

Seems like the rumors were correct:

    http://www.fnac.com/La-video-de-l-ec...er/cp19317/w-4

    From MF international: (http://www.mf-international.com/view...=asc&start=255)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    From http://www.mffcf.org/blog/ via Google Translate:

Find below some indiscretions via testimony from fans. A big thank you to them for sharing all this information.
    1. Elle a dit : a mid-tempo number with a musical bridge saxophone as for the title Quand.
    2. ? l’ombre
    3. Monkey Me : a pop-rock number with guitar everywhere.Lyrics include « C’est pas moi, c’est Monkey Me » .
    4. Tu ne le dis pas : a pop-rock number. Mylène's voice is highlighted. A chorus resembling that of A l’ombre. Includes « Il nous faut du courage mais tu ne le dis pas » .
    5. Love dance: up-tempo like me Be Me. Mylène's voice could be deleted or the lyrics be made more comprehensible. Lyrics in French and English.
    6. Quand
    7. J’ai essayé de vivre: mid tempo.
    8. Ici-bas : up tempo. Voice "auto tuned" by Mylène Farmer. .
    9. A-t-on jamais : up tempo.
    10. Nuit d’hiver : Resuming as Chloe in a "dark", "electro-modern" atmosphere. A superb introduction. Is fairly mysterious or frightening. The biggest surprise of the album.
    11. A force de… : mid-tempo
    12. Je te dis tout : a piano-accompanied ballad. « Ta main sur mon front, sur mes seins » .

    My first "review": http://www.mf-international.com/view...5063&start=330

It sounds promising. Perhaps I will love it after one month, but not now, sorry Mylène (more like, sorry Laurent, don't try to mix MCE with Point de Suture and then make it sound commercial) I need more synthpop, Laurent!

I think the album is excellent

The only song I really disliked is ? l’ombre. I think Laurent dropped the ball on that one.

A Force De isn't really my style either, but it's still better then ? l’ombre.

After 1 month of listening to the leaked version of this album (original is still on its way to me), I can say that I like it. To be honest, it is not that much worse than other MF albums, most songs just have a more commercial feal to them and that is what I dislike, everything else is fine and worthy of listening to.

My favorite is Nuit d'Hiver. I realize that I've been listening to it even more often than to original Chloé recently.

I have not listened to the new Mylene Farmer album yet. For me, her music is hit or miss.
