Oh ha ha! Of course. I forgot people could do that. Well, sorry Lilly. Anyway, long story short, I don't like facebook. It takes me forever every time I go to even just figure out who I've made "friends" with. All they ever want is for me to add people and leave it at that. Some of the worse application design ever if you ask me, though I'm sure it's not from *their* side (read, the advertisement platform is successful).

Wow. That's interesting. There is so much guessing and hype in this industry. Who knows what is true? I have seen a few years ago even some number of around 6 million, which, if this is correct was total b.s. obviously. Then again, they might have been talking about everything Alizée et al has sold and this is just in France. Still, that's less than one might have thought. Imagine if MCE had expanded her along with her expansion of efforts everywhere. Then she would have sold at least a couple million of singles and albums of that too and the number would have been closer to maybe 5 million with a couple million in album sales I guess. I wonder just where she'd be now if their efforts had paid off as well as they seemed to have been working for (as well as my perspective when I became a fan would have suggested that they should).
I kind of feel like if Alizée did not sell a million of singles and albums of MCE, then that showed that indeed people had just lost interest. They certainly worked hard on that album and on promotion and on giving her a more... noticeable image/presence. For example, we might forget that Alizée did 16 songs for that album. It's really hard to become a fan in like 2006 and be able to understand how not more people could possibly like Alizée enough to buy the album. Between those songs, all the awesome remixes, her travels... one just feels like this world is frickin stupid that she didn't sell in the millions. Anyway, it's one perspective.

Well, she certainly sold enough to make her mark in music history.
And the reasons why some things sell like crazy and others just collect dust on the shelves are sometimes hard to comprehend.
Remember the number of big Hollywood Productions which cost millions of dollars and totally flopped despite tons of marketing...there is no magic recipe for success.

And even Lili's charms have their limits, although this is hard to comprehend for someone who has fallen under her spell.
Todays music industry is so fast moving, today a star and forgotten tomorrow.
And there is no shortage of new talents and faces...guess whe should be grateful that she is still out there making music.

According to Melle Alicia (psychalizee + lillytown) Alizée appeared in the section "interview" at Absolument stars today (sadly you can't watch the video on the M6 page I don't know if anyone recorded it)

And she said that she hopes to make concerts from September in small locations to be closer to the fans.
