Guys it is already confirmed by Sony-BMG, Alizée comes to México.

I agree that it deserves its own thread. I can't wait to hear more infomation about this, although with it only being a small show there will be a lot of disappointed people.

. . . when the album came out, we were talking about her concerts to come etc, and I mentioned that what she needs to do was hold small intimate concerts like "live and interactive" type show as you see on TV . . . and how that would be PERFECT for France, especially. Where Mexico is concerned though, it doesn't really matter because a big show and a small show each have their own aura, and the fact that there might be disappointed fans, and giving that any weight, would mean to disregard all the shows that have been personal and interactive, as worthless. . . not the case. Btw, Alpha, I know you were just stating a fact . . . and to those that will be disappointed, well, tell us something we don't know . . . but never underestimate or forget the pleasure of an intimate and interactive show, just the same!

. . . btw, what sort of "private" event is this? Small "concert" but what made them decide this type. . . I want to understand the back ground info for this. . .

It is very small and is not part of the festival (san marcos), I can see that many of you are saying that you are going to go to the event or a are getting prepared to buy the tickets, that is not even announced yet, We don't know if the tickets are gonna be sold to the public, at least, nothing announced yet. What's more, seems like the access to the event will bevery restricted.

The message is kind of confusing, even in spanish. Here is the original one:

Because that much for a small show is sort of a cheap dagger move...
Small shows are supposed to be a courtesy of the artist.
I nearly go to nothing BUT small shows, none of which cost over 10-15 £ (20-30$)

They're not but, that is still expensive even in US dollars for a small show.

Most of the fans in mexico are young kids and teens who can't afford to spend that kind of money

If it's going to be small, it's probably because they feel they will not have as much success the second time around in Mexico. Something I had stated not long after her tour ended there. They are probably trying to test the waters down there with this event.

Last year, the fans in Mexico were hoping for the Alizée of the 1999 - 2003 era. What they got were beautiful songs re-orchestated into versions that were very forgetable and dances and appearence that paled in comparison to her earlier routines.

If the concert in March in Paris does happen. The good people of Mexico will be closely watching to see if she has made changes to win back some of her French fans. If there are no changes, if it's business as usual, she will not have the same level of success at any new concerts she might schedule, as she did last year.

One thing that could have a big affect ( or is it effect - I never could get those 2 words straight) is if the song(s) she releases in Spanish are very good. If they had confidence in this new music, they would probably have scheduled a concert in Mexico

1000 pesos is like 80 or 90 bucks. 14 pesos =1 dollar.

When we are not sure of anything i these matters, it is alwyas a wait and see game, or simply loook out for official news from Lili . . . if she would keep her website up to date, we could just go there and know instantly what's on the horizon for her. . . she could just ask her dad to update it every now and then, as she passes to him some info she wants added to the site, etc.

Soo... Zeús just clarified several "doubts" about this event. I made the translation, it may not be 100% accurate, it's just to keep you guys up to date about what's happening there in Mexico (this is the original quote):

"The visit of Alizee is confirmed, that's a fact with no doubt, as you know, she will be in La Feria de San Marcos in Aguascalientes on April 18th, which has France as the guest (this year).

IMO, this is not worthy to make the trip from other countries, prices are very high and I don't think she will perform many songs. Though the event, being private, would be a cool experience.
