View Full Version : Could you explain somthing for me?
Hello Everyone,
How popular is Alizée? She is yet to grace the shores of the United States so I have no way to gauge her popularity. I have been listening to her for like a year and a half, I have no clue what she is saying (Even when her lyrics are in “English”) but I still think she’s pretty good. So as far as super-star status; were does she rank? Also does anyone have any other artists they could recommend?

I'm also from US and talking to a few Frenchies... I got that answer regarding Alizee's popularity in France...
According to some French people I talked with she is really popular amongst the young girls 11-15 years of age... Her album is not doing so well in France, but her single is doing well! (kinda like T.A.T.U in America - there single 'All the things she said' was pretty big seller, but their album was not)..
btw, in some interviews I saw somewhere Alizee says that she has no plans to come to America... and I dont think she would be popular in America either.. Reason being there is too many pop stars and dance music is not so poplar in America and Foreign language albums is almost a sure thing not gonna sell! -especially French (You know americans hate french and french hate americans!)
Polster don't get the international debate started again huh ! By the way, to a certain extent I like the idea behind the poll, but I think it would be rather silly if someone had his or her opinion depend on a popularity poll, especially when it deals with age groups.

What's wrong w/ tatu? Anyway, I think Alizee would have a hard time in the U.S.-too much competition, but I do think that she could have a cult-like following-you know like how certain bands have(Blues Traveler, Grateful Dead, etc) if she came to the US. Forget it. I don't know what I'm talking about.
