View Full Version : Alizée and school

So, if I understand it correctly, Alizée stopped going to school around the age of 16 or so, correct?

I think it's a shame that she didn't continue her studies, even if her music undoubtedly takes up a lot of her time. I mean, that's like dropping out of high school here! I'm sure time, or lack thereof, was certainly an issue. But I read in some interview that she spends most of her nights alone in her hotel in Paris. Now, I certainly wouldn't mind taking a few hours every night to tutor her! I mean, with her apparent interest in math, science, and computers, I'm the man for the job! Alizée, if you're listening....! Heh, heh....

Just wondering what other people thought....

You know the band called HIM? Anyway, the lead singer is around ~25 years old and he hasnt finished high-school. He is planning to do that as soon as he has time. I think Alizée is not throwing her life away just by dropping out school. The education you get (or not) really doesnt mean sh*t in real life. Maybe she has a private teacher?

She said she will probably continue school after the promotion of her second album is completely finished. Her single is doing well, but her album is not doing so great, so she probably realizes by now that a third album might not be the best idea.

She has already been very honest about the fact that she doesn't expect to have a very long career, and even said she is prepaired for it all to be over pretty soon.

I don't want to sound negative, but we must all realize that Alizee is already over the top as far as populairity goes. One thing that Alizée clearly realizes, is that if she wants to release a third album, there is quite a big possibility that it will sell less then her second album.

Alizée is already thinking about wich option is better. Create a third album and hope that it will sell anywhere near as much as her second, or continue school and live her own life without being under the controle of her managers.

Ofcourse, even without school, Alizee already has enough money to live without worries for the next 30 years.

Although i would love to buy her music for the next 30 years, for her personal life, it might be better to quit at the right time, and move on with her own life.

 Alizée never finished school, I did not know that, I thought that perhaps she had taken on a tutor or something.

All those informations are on the book. When you will be able to understand french, you will learn plenty new things about her  .. She stops school at 16. At present, she's only having some english lessons with a private teacher.

them I missed a topic, there is a lot of information I knew and I even can add some.

She did not finish her school, one should have known that because it have been said in some interviews, also said is that she really like the 'culture of school' but not 'being in school as student :P'. Now she might be thinking about ending her career that early, and who knows restart after finishing school, that does not take away that her album isn't that much promoted yet, and I think we should be patient with making conclusions with out good and up-to-date information.

further more I like to quote some thing Naninou said,

Ofcourse, even without school, Alizee already has enough money to live without worries for the next 30 years.

this is not true, there are many aspects you probably don't know about but this is certainly not true. Now I don't want to sound negative but this is just a simple calculation one should make.

700.000 singles sold, 300.000 albums of the gourmandises prhase.

okay, now she will get +/- 3 euro a album and 2 a single.

2.100.000 + 600.000 = 2.700.00 euro, and then the 3.000.000 of concerts not to forget. Now suppose that she wants a familiy ... and that she gets used to a luxe life ...(still enough?, let's hope so).

of course the amount of money will grow but you said that she already has ;)

I wish you all a nice day and let's just hope that she is able to manage to do her school next to her job (I do) lol

my educational qualifications they dont mean shit

Ah yes, always comforting to know that all the money spent on my college education is going straight down the toilette!

Where did u get this information from?

I believe it was in the 48H video or in one of the parts of the 5-part interview....

By the way, I'd just like to thank all of you guys who post videos, music, images, etc. We here in the States would be lost without them! :D

On with the topic: I think it is important for a role-model like Alizée (which she is; just look at the latest Parler Tout Bas video!...) to be educated (and I'm not saying she's not; take "educated" as in finishing high school and possibly college...). She's already said on numerous occasions that she likes math, science, and computers; no reason for her not to pursue them! To that end, I'd be more than happy to tutor her! Of course, that would probably mean that she would have to come to the US, which would mean that she might grow to like it here, which would mean that....dare I continue?!

By the way, I was thinking of doing a semester abroad at possibly L'Ecole Polytechnique (for non-scholastic reasons- i.e., cultural...). Any of you guys know anything about that institution (or any other reputable universities in France)? I've talked to a few people who've done it, but I'd like to get as much info as possible....

And who knows: I'm in Paris, Alizee's in Paris...ah, the possibilities are endless. Live the dream, baby! :D Heh, heh....

The_Honorable
9th May 2003, 00:04
Of course, if she did decide to continue her studies, knowing her interests, L'Ecole seems like a perfect place for her to go! She'll enroll at the same time as I'm there, and when I get her all to myself, some of you guys will be cursing the day you ever downplayed the importance of education! :D LOL...

I probably go to the INT in france, nearby paris ... informatics ... nice university for her as well ... perhaps :P anyhow we continue our dreams

the honorable says alizee should be our role model!

Whoa! I never said she should be our role model, but rather that she was a role model. But jeromegreenday, she can be your role model if you want; if your dream is to one day be on stage wearing long black boots and a short sexy outfit doing the "bam, bara bam bam" thing, go for it! As for me, I'd rather dream of her on stage...with me there as well! :D Heh, heh....

C.P.A.
9th May 2003, 23:26
hehe ... I don't share my dreams for the safety of everybody here ;) lol

( and if that is true or not ... only I know )

But, studying until 16 years is enough, I think, at least in Spain, only until 16 is obligated.
