J'en ai marre is much better. It sounds more comfortable than I'm fed up. And in my opinion she's born to speak french and sing french songs, I figure it's kinda unuseful "politics" to start singing in english just to satisfy the nativ english speaking people. I mean I'm her fan even if she doestn't sing in german or spanish, so, let's go back to ta roots :)
(by the way, let us hope she's never trying to satisfy the fans in japan ;)

The english songs are funny... But Alizée is a French singer.
Also, i don't like the fuck sound Alizée makes in the middle of I'm fed up! Specially because she makes those orgasmic sounds right after she said "My goldfish still under me" And it makes me wonder what the hell that goldfish is doing, and where exactly it is 'under her'
I also don't like it because it doesn't fit in with the rest of the song.

J'en Ai Marre is a bit better than I'm Fed Up but other english songs are better than the French versions.

16th June 2003, 19:46
Which English songs are you referring to, Nikodemus?
C.P.A.
16th June 2003, 20:04
all 3 I guess ;) I am not twenty amélie and youpidou and no I am not sure if I wrote everything correctly, too tired :)
Nikodemus
17th June 2003, 10:51
I like I'm not twenty's, Youpidoo's and Amélie's English version more than French versions.

The_Honorable
17th June 2003, 19:56
LOL...sorry but French is the only way to go! Except maybe Youpidoo, since it's so blatantly dirty in English....
C.P.A.
17th June 2003, 20:29
but that dirtyness is kinda nice actually, I mean let the fantacy do its work and you will be come a more happy person :) and even a better way is to play first youpidou in english and then the La Isla Bonita video ! 8)

8th July 2003, 10:36
I always prefer the french songs. Although in the other three songs the diference is not so huge, I think J'en ai marre is much better than I'm fed up. Nevertheless, I also like the english versions , specially Youpidoo, Amélie and I'm not twenty.
Nikodemus
8th July 2003, 11:35
I like the english versions too but french J'en Ai Marre is the best!

Ah, I see! Well, I think it must a Russian thing. Btw, wasn't "I'm Fed Up" quite high on the Russian charts for a while? How did the French version do?
extremeR
9th July 2003, 23:26
Well, I think it must a Russian thing.I don't think so, H.
The best position of "I'm fed up" in russian radio chart was 16th. and in tv chart 14th.

9th July 2003, 23:36
Well, until she is good enough and comfortable in english, then we'll hear her sing better in english. But I still think she should concentrate more on her french music as it sounds better on her. Maybe she should sing in spanish or italian, just a thought.....
The_Honorable
10th July 2003, 05:17
I don't think so, H.
LOL. I stand corrected then! All I meant, though, was that "I'm Fed Up" has probably enjoyed more success in Russia than elsewhere. I don't follow the charts outside of what gets posted here and elsewhere, but I think Russia is one of the few places where the English version has prospered, no?
extremeR
10th July 2003, 09:09
Ahhhhhh, yup! Of course, it's a big success for "I'm fed up!" here in Russia. But I don't understand one thing, WHY we've an english version in Russia, 'cause a french version could be on first place and it's no doubt. 8) Maybe we have english version cuz all people in Russia speaks only in english.
The pronunciation in "I'm fed up!" is badly(especially a pronunciation of word "water"), so I think it won't have a great success in english-language countries. The other english songs good, but this one.... :(
Okay, okay... as I said elsewhere, who am I, just r*****n, consequently how can I talk about english pronunciation.

Alizée has to stop ta translate her songs in English, untill she can speak and sing very well in that language.
I'm fed up is an ugly song, just because she hasn't got the right accent: J'en ai marre 'est fantastique'!! :P
The_Honorable
12th July 2003, 01:26
Now don't get me wrong: I prefer the French over the English in just about every song. But you can't deny that there is a certain sexiness to that accent of hers while singing in English...
cocico
12th July 2003, 07:32
 I don't think so... I don't know why she has to sing in English, 'Moi lolita' was a french song and it was a big hit?
