My little brother often says to me that Alizée is nothing but silly pop which is for 7 year old kids and he takes great delight in mocking her. (him being the great metal head that he is) Unfortunately i dont have a firm enough grasp of french to fully understand the lyrics which means i find it hard to judge for myself (even though i think shes amazing and has a great talent) i was just wondering what all your views are....

Before I started liking her, I thought the same way your brother does (ah it's only pop, screw it!). How wrong I was! Luckily I opened up my mind and started to actually listen to her songs, after which I fell in love with her music.

yeah, i think he thinks that he listens to her his cool image will be wrecked, but oh well. Its his loss. I am quite a big pop fan, but i dont know...... Alizée is something different. Do you speak french?

You really have to take her as she is, not just a part of the pop program ... But even there, she sticks out ... After having heard Moi ... Lolita, I bought the full album as soon as it was released ... Never lost my interest in her ever since.

None of my friends know I listen to Alizee's music, which is good b/c they would rip me mercilessly. :( I wouldn't really care though, I have a diverse CD collection that ranges from Alizee to Metallica and enjoy it all. Good music is good music.

another faithful Lolita fan

mmm little quote of ALizée 'I'm fed up with the lolita image, i am Alizée not lolita'! Don't say lolita fan please, we are Alizée fans isn't it. Well if not atleast I am :P

Okay, back to the topic I guess your little brother does have a lot to learn in his life, probably he will. Now I like most genres of music, I felt the really really first time in love with the song Moi Lolita when I heard it on the radio. No long story about that thus ;)

(btw, my opinion about metal, espacially heavy metal ... it's for lo**rs - :P)

I prefer not to say I'm a Alizée fan cuz she's actually seen by most french people as a singer for kids... It's a little sad cuz some of her songs are really mature and should be appreciated by adults too. Unfortunatly for her come-back she has chosen "J'en ai marre" which have some ... childlike lyrics  . " ... Let just see some lyrics: J"'en ai marre de la pluie" (I'm fed up with rain.. :? ) .. " J'en ai marre de courgettes" (I'm fed up with zucchinis :?) .. "J'en ai marre d'en avoir marre" .. (I'm fed up to be fed up ... :? ) . So with this first song It would be a little difficult for me to convince my friends and my family ... I like the tempo of this song but not really the lyrics .. Some are thinking that there are some play words with sexual connotation :"Zucchinis who make her vomit on her bed" .. but usually those play words appeared more clearly in Mylène Farmer lyrics (Like in "moi lolita").. So I just hope a really more mature second single for Alizée (A contre-courant for example) .. That will help me to counvince some people around me!

Give her some credit as well, how can you can expect her to sing about the little things of life when she's still in her teens.

But "Moi lolita" or even "l'Alizé" were more mature songs than "J'en ai marre" (I'm talking about the lyrics) although Alizée was 15 years old when she has sung "Moi Lolita" .. "J'en ai marre" is with "Youpidou" the most childlike song of this second album.. With the others, Mylène Farmer has done a very good job (like usual) with very mature and intersting lyrics...

Ok even if we all like Alizée and Mylène we can sometimes make little critics  ...
