Hi,

I'm a french fan of Alizée, and i would like to know if english-speaking fans prefer the original version "J'en ai marre" or the translated version of the song : "I'm fed up".

Thanks for your opinion

It is as a matter of fact surprising how many people there are from England and the US on this forum ...

I also like her voice in any language, but I still prefer the French version.

It is as a matter of fact surprising how many people there are from England and the US on this forum ...

Why is that surprising?

Dunno ... you would just expect to have more people from continental Europe as there is more media attention going to Alizée, not mentioning the language ...

i thought it was just me but i cant understand the english version either her voice sounds like mtv english*. but i like it just as much as the french version

*in the early nineties with mtv europe it was presented by dutch and other european riff-raff! who had a dutch dialect but had a hint of an american accent

Yeah what is wrong with Hollands?? (Dutch) nu moeten ze nie vervelend worden ;)

But something else, love both songs very much .. still I think the Fed Up song has something special .. ´kind of sexy cute' while the french version has something more direct :S

Hey CPA, you actually speak dutch ? Great ! Can't understand Jeromegreenday or whatever his name is either ! Okay Alizée's English version of "J'en ai marre" definitely sounds like a frenchmen's attempt to sing English and I therefore much more prefer the original version. But hey so what, put on the French version if you don't like her English !

This is my first time posting here so please forgive me if I did not do it right.

In reply to your posting on which is better the french or english version. It would be more of a question of which sounds better ...english of french rather than the way she is singing. Though I am from the US and live there still , everyone knows that french sounds soooooo much better than english.

I perfer the French version. And I'm sure any song from french into english would sound better in french .

this might belong on the riccardo i'm learning french but i find it hard to speak french because they have less words but its great when you speak fluently because they dont care about grammer they get lazy with verbs and say it in present tense when they talk about ten years ago or ten in the future and a fave saying of mine "ton probleme" translated means your problem but when you raise your voice at the end and say it in a grumpy way you seem like a pissed off teen and it means what is your problem i love their slang so it's hard to translate so i would say the french is better a good little lesson for you kids out there 8)

Well, I see that u have a problem with points and capital letters in a sentence :P lol Probably you didn't had any problem with that 'lazy' part ;)

Just kidding around .. let that be clear
