I can't find anywhere on the net to buy the book! Could someone please give me a good site name that orders stuff in US doller amounts....I don't understand france money and stuff like that. The american amazon.com does not sell it....

Also, Riccardo!!!! If you read this ! I think I kind of trust you better than anyone here because I'm new to the forum , yet a long time fan of not just Alizee but your site as well. And plus , I have talked to you before on IRc and on Chat......my alias on there was _Alizee .

Anyways, I think I talked to you before about me buying stuff off of you personaly. If I can't find the book online , buy it for me and I will give you money for the book, for getting me the book, and for shipping and handling. .........Tell me what you think about it ?

uuummm no. I don't understand the Euro. I have lived in the US my whole life and have never used or even owned the Euro.....lol.

And it's not just that, but my french is still alittle green and I don't understand alot of the stuff on the websites that sell alizee stuff, hence, why I'm taking french classes at Adult school.

Third, most french sites I don't think really order to the US. and if they do , I don't know about it , because I can't read ....lol

Ordering is actually pretty easy. I recommend http://www.fnac.com -- just know that you'll need a credit card.

As far as understanding the site goes, you can use the Google Translator (http://www.google.com/language_tools) to help you with entire pages or just small amounts of text. XE.com (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) will let you know what your charges in Euros will translate to in American dollars.

1 euro = 1 u.s dollar according to the ftse market at the moment i hope that makes it easy for you to understand

serg

Jerome is right their the € & $ are pretty much 1:1.

I ordered and received "Mes Courants Electriques..." from amazon.fr and had no problem. I don't speak French, but amazon.fr is set up just like amazon.com and if you know what you are looking for, it isn't hard to figure out. I also got the CD for much less than I would have to pay for it here. I think I'll look for the book when I sign off.

Jack

Actually it is often better to order a few things at the same times as transcontinental shipping costs sometimes are pretty high ...

C.P.A.
10th June 2003, 12:18
yes but sometimes one can't wait anymore Jack ! I ordered all things separately

Jack

TheLarch
13th June 2003, 16:12
http://www.jinxrecords.com/ should have it too.

As for the Euro, is basically on par with the U.S. Dollar. You can still try canadian sites. Quebéq is a french speaking community, so you're likelly to have a better chance there.

But is this book in English, or just french?

Nikodemus
13th June 2003, 17:11
Euro is much stronger than dollar TheLarch. One euro is 1,1734 dollars today.

The_Honorable
13th June 2003, 19:29
I sense a bit of pride in your last comment, Nikodemus, no? However, a little basic economics would make you realize that a weak dollar is certainly not in the best interest of any European nation....

proxis.be is a good alternativ for amazon.fr. It´s available in French, Dutch and of course English  - sometimes cheaper than amazon.fr. I prefer amazon.fr: faster delivery.

I hate the cover of the book too. It is like Japanese anime.

TheLarch
17th June 2003, 15:28
Yes. The Euro is just a little stronger than the US$ now. But it's not THAT much of a difference. If it was so, I would start ordering stuff from the US like mad! :)

Greycap
17th June 2003, 15:51
that's what i'm doing at the mom :) the $ is damn cheap in relationsship to the swiss franc, so, i allready got 3 books and more stuff to come

shame on the designer of the book cover, they could at least put a nice picture on it or better ask an proffesional to design it, I would have done it even for free!

*PS mm probably the reason why I am still not rich ;)

Nikodemus

Any picture of Alizée would be better than that animedrawing cover.

loveherfromusa
18th June 2003, 15:28
To TheLarch: It doesn't matter what the exchange rate is, you are much more likely to find Alizee on the European sites. I wish her CDs were cheaper in US, but they aren't.

As far as the book cover goes, if you have looked at the other books in the series, they have the same cheap caricature. I think they could do better with all the books they publish. (I still have the book coming. Amazon.fr emailed me that it is on the way.)

TheLarch
18th June 2003, 15:42
loveherfromusa, I meant in terms of delivery...

As for the cover, I actually like it. Sure. Like any of, I prefer a PICTURE of her. But I think the caricature is nice, and has the advantage of avoiding the terrible choice of what picture to choose to best represent her. Would you like THAT responsability?

Greycap
18th June 2003, 16:38
sure, no problem

Would you like THAT responsability?I will take on the responsibility of choosing a picture of her for the cover of any book. I will, of course, need to spend long hours consulting with her in order to choose the best picture. I'll make the sacrifice.

who said it just has to be one pic? how about something like a collage? (its a french word and it doesn't mean university ;) )

The_Honorable

"Collage" is an English word as well (taken from the French), and it means exactly what you want it to mean! :P
