I'm with Xanthrax here. Coer deja pris maybe easy to dismiss, but it's one of the few songs where her voice REALLY counts and you can hear it clearly and unadulteraded, in sharp contrast to Moi.. lolita, for example. It's also one of the most beautifull songs written on this subject, and proof that the chemistry between Mylène and Alizée is quite real! A contre courant is awesome as well, but coer deja pris is REALLY hard to beat, IMHO :)

My favorite MCE songs are J'en ai marre and J'ai pas vingt ans. But still I like Moi...Lolita most. I agree the songs are better in French and her beautiful voice just sounds better in French.

Must agree with you, it is a sensational Ballard and one of my favourites from Gourmandises, could listen to it all night. At the minute the song I'm listening to the most is Tempete from Alizée en concert. I never really took much notice of it in MCE, I don't know or haven't checked whether she sings it different but I just can't stop playing it at the minute. Hey Amigo as well as all the ones I said earlier I love at the minute.

It's a (day)dreamy rather than a passionate song, at least to me - maybe the character in the song is not too sure what "personality" to present to the world, trying to express themselves, and it bothers them a bit so they (day)dream about it!!:wink:

BTW album faves (tho' like them all) would be:
(1) Hey! Amigo! - bittersweet: washes over you at first as a cheery popsong but you can feel the sighs in the chorus ...tatouage....maquillage

(2) Mon maquis - complicated, impressive vocal delivery, plus a neat bit of drumming

(3) VVV - love its defiant tone, bursting with pride!:D:

(4) Toc de mac - could loop that chorus forever, plus the la-la-la's are as always just...:wub:

J'ai pas vingt ans was how I discovered Alizée, but it was J'en ai marre that made me fall completely "head over heels" for her. If we are just talking Mes Courants Electriques, there are a number of songs that I enjoy more then the rest on the album (But all are really good regardless).
