embedding a youtube video

Hello, i was wondering, how do i embed a youtube video in a thread response. I see there is a youtube button, but i don't understand it. And when i put an embedded link in that doesn't work either.

Are they just not allowed at all, or am i just dense. I'm going to guess the latter.
