With this vid, I have tried to make the scenes and their pace bring out the feel of the music- like at 3:28, with her head shot waving with the feel of the music. At certain parts, you can also see that her lips move exactly to the sound of the words being sung by Laura Pausini ("E Ritorno Da Te") - in the "ella elle la" clip, her lips move exactly to the "ho bisogno di te" words (2:59) and you can see examples of this at certain other parts too.

One of my fav parts is also the pause at 1:55 . . . in anticipation of the music. And that's the sort of stuff you can find in this vid . . .

btw, I have added an intro. so the music you guys hear at first will be "Angnus Dei" by Barber (not the remix, but the classical - much better) - I have cross faded both tracks, and I have added a seperate track for the credits, so you might want to stick around for those . . .

Hope you enjoy . . . if not . . . "you can't win 'em all" and not all of us feel the same at certain scenes

making videos isn't hard and anybody with a imagination can make one (ie. at the last minute I decided to add the overlay just over Alizée's retina (eyeball) I just imagined it because I rmembered of cusom contact lenses- I wonder if people actually noticed that part-

But, I don't think I will be making any more videos . . . I want some new material :wink:

This will be my last vid for quite some time . . . I hope people see what I see in this video . . . in the hopes of giving them some pleasure that I got out of it.

to fade out a track:

In the timeline window, move the marker to the desired point of the track (audio 1, 2, or 3) preferablynear end :cheesy: .

click on the "show key frames" button (diamond shaped button in the Audio 1 box next to the timeline window)

select "show track key frames"

press the "add/remove keyframe" button and you will notice that where you have moved the timeline marker, there will now be a small circle with an + sign in it.

next, move the timeline marker to the end of the track

press the "add/remove kewyframes" button again and now you will see that there is another small circle with the + sign in it.

click and drag the last marker you have just created all the way to the bottom right corner of the audio timeline

you will see that the audio line has taken a slope down from the first keyframe marker to the one just placed in the bottom corner

this will now be the volume direction for this part of the audio timeline

you're done

(NOTE: the more audio treacks you add - audio 1, 2, 3 - the more you can play with the key/frames button (you have to)

I am too lazy to read over for mistakes - so if there is anything noit understood, just holla

P.S. I don't want to play teacher though . . .

I told PB to just work with audio tracks and then with video tracks, and then combine the two . . . so, know the audio controls, then the video controls, and then combine the 2 if you want to learn fast

P.P.S for more audio control . . . go to Window/workspace/audio to open the audio mixer window

Well Bizz, I will see about the final countdown vid . . . if I will make one, then I will make one for you and you can post it if you want to share . . . I don't know . . . . But I can tell you how to make a great vid for that song if you want . . . . .

One thing you have to do is make a collection of all the times (caps of) she is seen turning in her vids. Next, get all the caps of when she is flying . . . (use the L'Alizé making of video) . . . then get all the caps of her running . . . then get all the caps of her showing a serious stare/glance/facial expression that is very intense . . . and a few with a smirk like stare (there are many from the "Fan De" vids)

I need to make a collection of all this stuff and MORE . . . then put to paper a timeline sequence then move things around . . . and this is before I have even opened any program on my comp . . . . . . . . It takes too long though . . . . I will try . . . .

this last vid I made isn't ewven close to what I put down on paper . . . you can blame my comp for that :cry:

hahaha . . . I haven't laughed this hard in 2 days . . . . don't mind me

It's not hard to make a vid using metal/rock music . . . with metal, you have to find scenes where Alizée is waving her head around side to side (<easy) and front and back (<difficult) and you have to speed up the cap and using short bursts . . . there are many cool ways tpo make one . . . but it is more difficult ONLY if you have not put things down on paper first, with a list of scenes you envision using . . . you do this while listenong to the song and trying to remmber what Lili scenes would best fit at "this" point in the song and whether it would be best to slow the cap down or speed it up etc . . . . .

Ok, I have watched it few times now and what can I say... Excellent video once again. (And thanks again for the private download link. I appriciate it a lot. :) )

The music choice was perfect... Laura's beautyful voice mixed to Lili's beautyful clips... It just works! And ending the song to ACC scenes... just... beatyful... It makes me shiver...

There was excellent lil details. But I'd like to explain me the meaning of the snow/mountain backgrounds used here and there ? I just couldn't figure out meaning of them...

Some nice technical ideas used too, like the short clip showed in her pupil. Very nice lil thing for the vid. Technical qualoty was pretty good in general. (Altho, I could point out few things but they have been discussed already. :) )

But one thing on video bothers me... or not excatly bothers... But I feel that it could have done other way. The ending of the video.

And this is just my opinion. I don't want to disrespect your way of doing it but I have had done it slightly different way (because I'm not you and my mind walks different paths... ). You can ignore this or give a comment but don't feel like I'm questioning your way of doing it...

I would have ended the video where the Laura's song ends. It would have been perfect ending, in my opinion. I decided to do the ending like that because of all the talk about Lili (her comeback) that last part was not really part of the vid . . . I have never liked using credits . . . maybe just a simple "Orion" logo in some of the frames found at the corner . . . I just can't stand credits

But, I don't want the credtits to go over any part of the video . . . I could have added a blank screen with scrolling credits, but if I were to do that, why not the way it is now? . . . They are just credits and instead of a blank screen or having them scroll over the final caps, why not let them scroll the wy they are now . . .

in movies, most credtis have a black screen with music, or when the final exit scene is a zoom and pan or a long continuous shot . . . like a car driving down the road with music (ie. GoodWill Hunting), the credits begin and that is ok because the background is just a canvas for the credits . . . In my case the caps were too important to act as a canvas for the credits, so, I gave them a new canvas . . .it's own music and its own continuous shot with a pan and zoom (getting closer to her face)

Concerning the last part (snowboard): it was just my "logo" and I will add it to every video I do . . . with the sound of the wind.

I will tell you what's missing though in the section between the last cap and the opening credits . . . . a fade in effect . . . that I wrote down, but forgot to add :cry:

that would have made your eyes more freely and subtly accept the flow from the l;ast cap to the credits scene . . . with out the fade in/out effect . . . it might be too shocking for the eyes (difference between a click and a wave . . . one is more subtle (wave) than the other (click)

I always appreciate your input RMJ

P.S. did I mention I hate credits :wink: I think that I will use my callsign as a logo for the vid:

(Orion/ with 50% transparency, more or less and I will have it appear and reappear with a fade in/out effect on certain caps - not sure yet)

Ok, good you clarify the credits part. If the video was supposed to end to that ACC part then it's the perfect ending after all. :)

Oh, and I was supposed to comment that lip syncing. But I guess I forgot (I went to out take a walk during the writing of my answer...). It was done pretty nicely. Must been hard to find perfect match as the songs doesn't have that much common. But anyways, it was really well done.

Btw, any chance to get that translation of the song which you promised ? :)

Not directed to me but... I do like. :)

Or I did actually... When I was younger I read a lot of those popular publications of astrophysics (and pretty much every area of physics). But nowadays, in university, it's just math... and some more math... I don't like it anymore. :( I like the science behind it but I don't like to write and solve dozens of pages math to see the science behind it... It kills the fun. :(

I should start to read those books again.. They are easy to read and makes your mind fly. :)

ok, you see the cap before the pic in question? well the pan is moving up through the trees towards the sun . . . all I did was extend the scene to go further up above the clouds past the mountain peaks trying to keep the sun as close to the position as the prior/next as possible (but ti doesn't have to be since the camera is moving slightly and the effect is more freehand) Then I let the other cap after the pic in question take it over and bring it back down to earth through the broken roof towards Alizée . . . I am still wondering if I should have done a pan and zoom shot of that pic starting from the sun all the way out to bring the pic to full view and reach that end as soon as the fade to the PTB cap started . . . hmm

The pic in question is actually 2 different pics in one that I overlayed and crossfaded: the sky doesn't belong to the mountain/cloud cover scene at bottom (that is from a panorama shot) the sky is from an HQ pic (I just blended them together 2 form one pic)

Now on to the translation . . . .

sometimes, to convey to you the meaning of an Italian word, I will have to use 2-3 words and vice versa too . . . I hate doing that. I would rather give you a translation of the words and then have you read the lyrics and then listen to the song so that when you hear the words and you remember their mention in the translations, you can better get a feel for it.

I will get on it, but if I start getting a head ache, then I will stop :cheesy:

Heh, I remember well the basic astronomy courses that I HAD to take here... I attended on first class or two and skipped rest of them... And of course got pretty much full scores from exam. You see, the courses were pretty much same what I had read last 15 years on my own... The courses were pretty much just popular science for those who aren't seriously going to study astonomy (or just minor in it).

After those I took courses all around astronomy and tried to look the area that I'm really interested in. Took couple of those astrophysics courses too but as said... way too much math for my taste. So I stick to planetology (kinda similar to geology but instead of Earth, I study other planets. Of course I study Earth too... I could not understand other planets if I didn't study Earth first... It's the closest planet to us ).

I have to admit that one of the main reasons why I would like to go Italy is actually my profession... You see, in Italy is few very interesting volcanoes. I'd love to go study Etna, Vesuvius and so on... :) And someday I will... But of course I want to see other places there, too (as mentioned in that EuroTrip thread). :)

And the joke about the woman professor... It was almost funny. Altho, mostly just the way you explained it afterwards. :P

Too bad here isn't pretty professors... Except the one last week that I had two hours under her (tsk tsk :P I'm tired... ) teaching. She almost made me want to change to history department (she teached couple hours of Japanese culture & history on one course I got). :)

hah speaking of mountains, you kow that part with the JEAM cap and there is a pic of that mountain panorama . . . . if you notice, the pic goes away way too early, as if she is pushing it away with her hands . . . before I rendered the vid it was set to stay static, but I have been mentioning the problems I have with my system and not being able to save certain settings . . . well, that is one example . . . but since it looks as if she is moving the land with her hands from the sky, I decided to not go back and fix it (besides that, I was too lazy :cheesy: )

the first mountain scene is now self explanatory, but the second one I just mentioned, I decided to add because I have laid down a precedent for it with the earlier one and . . . . . . these guys are simple when it comes to this artsy stuff . . . . and don't know what the heck the vid is to convey to them . . . . . :P

seriously, though, I wanted to add some accent to certain scenes . . . and I decided to go back to that pic because when I saw the JEAM cap it looked like she was high in the sky . . . if the background would not have been white, I would not have used that panorama shot . . . but since the background was white and she looked placed in air, I decided to go back to that scene, earlier . . . I wanted to add another overlay to cover the white background of the cap with clouds and a skyline to make it look much better, (make the mountain panorama complete) but then I would have had to render that section, as it stood with the panorama, and then replace it with the copy I just made of it in order to add the clouds/sky overlay . . . just like I did with the previous mountain skyline . . . I just couldn't though . . . too much "clicks" going on from my system . . . and I didn't want to push it . . .

I will make sure to let you know when I will be there and you can come and visit me (stay at my house for free instead of paying the hotel clerk). then we can go visit all those places you want . . . my friends and relatives there will gladly lend us a car for our stay. Probably 1-2 yrs from now though :cry:

And no worries... I can do the Italy trip soonest summer/fall 2007... :) Obviously I will wantn to visit Corsica, too, when I come there. It's so close to Italy that I simply cannot miss it. :)

Oh, and thanks heaps for the translation! It's definitly better than my tries, even if it's done in rush. :) I will stydy it better tonight after I get something to eat! (18:30 and still haven't eat even breakfast!)

I can see my self in paris in a few years, with ppl from this forum.

I plan to go there when im in the army (maby i can get a free plain ticket), but my family might be offended if I dont return when I have weekend passes... :cry:

I am moving back to Europe for good in 1-2 yrs . . . The life we live there is much different than the one lived in North America . . . sometimes, that's all I think about . . . home sick :cry:

You won't feel homesick after you spend a day in Europe.Europe is wonderfull,not much people there and no overfull streets like in New York.

Sadly enough sometimes life here can be pretty boring...

It's not really about it being boring . . . it's more about the lifestyle . . . and the scenery . . . Here there are only buildings, houses, factories and a few parks thrown around . . . it's just the aura I see/feel . . . I am used to taking things easy . . . here, it is all work, eat, sleep, repeat . . . In Europe, there are beautiful Piazzas to visit and on every corner you have a nice bar or restaurant where you can sit outside and relax with a drink or an espresso . . . This one always kills when I tell people who don't already know: In Italy, the stores close at noon and open again at 4pm!! . . . it's the law . . . So, Italians say "Hey . . . it's noon . . . let's take a break, eat and drink and then take some more rest to relax and digest, and then go back to work. Let's go to the beach, for an hour to help aid digestion" :lol: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :cry: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . home sick . . .

I wish the US was like that. We can't have that lifestyle. If a shop closes at 12 and opens at 4 in the US, it'd be driven out of business because other greedy businessmen would force their workers to work those hours.

In short, the only people in the US who could do such a thing are those who sit at the top, and everybody else has to shovel their shit.
