I know one thing for sure. Americans have something against french people.
Everytime I say I'm french to some english dude. He's just insulting me. He call me ''frog'' , ''pussy'' , ''whiner'' , ''coward'' ...
A LOT of Americans are like that, and that pisses me off. It's disguting how dumb people can be.
French is like, the best language on earth ? French people are just friendly, loving people. That's all.

I think most of the German People don't have a real opinion towards Japan, mostly because they don't know that much
of that country.
Mangas and especially Anime are probably the most popular Japanese Things here in Germany. Many young people like it.
But those who are really obsessed with it are pretty rare I would say.
The Asian Cinema in general is gaining more and more ground here in Germany. But unfortunately they mostly release
only the Horror/Action kind of movies here. But it's getting better, lately they released "Nobody knows" here,
a real gem of Japanese Cinema.
But I think mostly because of the internet more and more people start to like Japanese Things. It's much easier
now to buy Japanese Things now directly from Japan. Too bad, their DVDs are that expensive.
I think one of the things why german/european people likes Japanese/Asian Things is because
it's all so different from what they have in their Home Countries.
Ironically, I asked some Japanese People what films they like. And they named pretty much from the USA.
Because it's different to them.
Another example: I like Enka, Japanese Folk Music. I told that to a japanese girl, she said:
"OMG, I hate it, my parents listen to that all the time".
From what she said most of the Japanese Youth think the same about that. They are surrounded by it, it's
nothing new to them.
It's the same with German Folk Music (Schlager or Volksmusik), when you ask some random german people
they would tell you the same like that Japanese Girl. And on the other Hand this German Volksmusik is
kinda popular in China. Because it's different to them.
I'm obsessed with Asian Cinema. I love films from Japan, South Korea, China, HK or Thailand.
Mostly because because they have a different view of certain things and telling stories.
They have a different approach of how they deal with Basic Things like Love or Hate.
And that's what I find interesting. Of course they also have lots of crap in there high movie output.
But that's the same with every country. Look at Hollywood, much crap but sometimes a real gem shines through.

Did anybody already mentioned that the "Ayumi Hamasaki - Rainy day"-video seems to play in Germany? You can see a german bus stop sign and an old german bookshop "Buchhandlung Albrecht Düper" in the beginning and a lot of buildings of the old-german style during the whole video.
I´m used to see a lot of japanese/asian things in Germany but a german bus stop sign in a japanese musicvid?!
Mysterious... very miysterious...

There's actually quite a lot more german influences in J-Pop Music than you might think.
For example, dl the Song "Give it up" by W(<-- name of the Band)
and listen very closely to the beginning. It was quite a shock for me, I would never have excepted to hear something like
that in a J-Pop Tune.
Another example might be the Song "Koi no Dance Site" by Morning Musume. It's quite a Rip-Off of a German
Song called "Dschinghis Khan" by the German Band with the same name.
There is also a W Photobook which uses many German Words in it, though sometimes they don't make a sense there.
There are also some Bands with German Names, "Zwei", "Schwarz Stein" and many Bands with Names
or Song Titles referring to the Third Reich, like "Mein Kampf", "Rommel", "Aushvitz" etc.
There is also a female J-Pop Singer, which Name I forgot, who covered an old German Folk Song, singing it also completely in German.
I also heard that there are many Rip-Offs of German Pop Songs, but I can't confirm that since I didn't heard them yet.
As mentioned Ayumi Hamasaki has a strange affinity to German Stuff like wearing German Flags on her Concert.
She also performed in Stage Outfit with a Swastika attached to it. But I don't know the background to it, yet.
To lighten that up, there's also many English influences in J-Pop/Rock Music. It's a common practice to include single
English Words in the Lyrics or the Song Title. That's a thing you don't find in any other kind of music I guess.
But I admit, seeing German Things in Japanese Music or Videos is kinda strange.
And it seems that the opposite Thing starts here in Germany too, using Japanese Words, since we have
that (in)famous succesfull Band "Tokyo Hotel" :cheesy: *jk*
