What is the fuss about MF and Alizee?

Due to the huge amounts of tidbits I have read.....I still don't have a clear idea of what happened between MF and Alizee and so "rumors" ... So can someone please recollect and tell me this stuff about they having a rift and stuff?

I've never heard of even the loopiest of stars having a baby to defy a manager and friend. I seriously doubt that would be the case. Just remember that the entire "feud" was reported by Voici. More likely is that they realize their careers need to have some space, Alizée proabably wants to do some personal exploration with the art of music, and Mylène is probably happy to give her that space since she's no doubt busy with her own stuff.

Hm id have to say.. even tho it was cleared they did not have a fallout. I would have to go on record and say something clearly did happen. I don't know if Alizée got pregnant and MF was angry at her, jelous or annoyed.. i don't know. I do believe something happened between them. It was strange non of them came foward to defend there relationship that same day. If i was in there position, i would have been out there like a shot. Well, didn't Voici get sued about it at some point? But yeah, I'm sure there was a point where they realized they need to go in different directions, but I doubt there was much animosity. Probably some sort of friction, but I'd bet it's the kind of friction that happens between good friends, not the business kind.

My guess is that MF didn't want Alizee to take a break at such an early stage in her career. It's a risky thing to do unless you are HUGE everywhere. There is always a chance that some of your fans won't want to wait for you and will move on to other interests. I'd have to say that she would have preferred Alizee to wait on getting married and becoming a Mom. Alizee was probably a bit defiant about it in return and did what she wanted to do anyway. I'm sure they've patched up their differences for the most part by now.

You also have to realize the Mylene makes money on Alizee's sales so Alizee's decisions affect her own personal life and not just Alizee's life..... It coudn't have been an easy situation for either one of them.

Mayhem yea, i believe they got sued. They have been sued so much, ive lost count now. However, voici do tend to speculate, and turn a fish into a killer shark. They might have had very faint facts, but exploited them. So, maybe that is why they were sued. I do think you are right tho, just good friends having a fallout.

Something like when a 17yearold tells her mum she is pregnant. They don't speak for weeks.. but evenually, she comes round. That might be similar, regarding that spiritual daughter label, MF has given Alizée. Obviously she cares for her deeply, like the daughter she never had.

No doubt about it, A sexy single singer is going to sell more records than a married one. One thing that gets people (most) attracted to her, is looks. I can recall all the noobs we have had around here proclaiming there love for Alizée. When they find out she was pregnant, they were never to be seen again.

Wow Jang that's a good point. Never though about it that way before. Perhaps it is Alizée distancing herself rather than Mylène. Ofc, that fact that Mylène owns her contract makes it a little bit more complex than that. :wink:

Doubt that. Mylène would have enough foresight to not plan the promotion in the first place if that was the case. Alizée says she called it off because she didn't want to answer questions, but I'm well convinced that it was due to her pregnancy (perhaps a little earlier than expected), and thus knowing that her heart would not be in appearances at that time.

The rest… I agree with most of what’s been said here. Especially that the press exaggerated things, as evidenced by the November interview (see fanpage news), and Mylène’s recent visit to court over Voici’s statements regarding her and Alizée.

I'm not blaming Mylene or anyone else in this incident, but I'd like to make a general observation about the music business and business in general:

Often, when the contract is written up between the two parties, the record exec or record company and the artist or band, usually it is the sad case that the contract is heavily weighted in favor of the exec/record company, sometimes to the detriment of the artist/band. Actually, this is the case in almost any industry/market. Look at your own employment contract. It is likely that the word "fairly balanced" isn't going to be the first words out of your mouth once you go through every line of your employment contract. More likely it is the case the contract is weighted in favor of your employer.

For instance, if there is any conflict between you and your employer, there is likely an arbitration clause with a 3rd party in your contract, but you, the employee, usually have no experience with arbitration, much less know any reputable third party that has a history of being fair and balanced in its decisions regarding arbitration, yet you signed the contract anyway, so when you get screwed and sue, you lose because when you signed, you agreed to every last inch of that document, including the parts you had little or no understanding of.

But that's the kicker. The devil really is in the details.

Take a little bit of business law classes if you want. It would help to illuminate some of these issues. I've seen enough, and it's not necessarily pretty.

I'm not saying this is the case, though, between Mylene and Alizee. I don't know enough about the actual contract between Mylene and Alizee to judge anything, so I won't.

You are right, Emmerdale001! There are few musicians in this world who own their music, like Ray Charles or Michael Jackson. In my opinion, the music industry is nothing without the musicians, just like the employers with their employees. In this case the music business executives should thank the musicians for making this industry so profitable.

Predating Jérémy, I believe. Also of course the tongue piercing (http://www.alizee-forum.com/ltopic,10083,0,asc,0.html) she had for a time in 2004 that we've discussed before. So to answer fallenONE, if Mylène cares about such things (which I doubt, given her love of kink ;) ), she would have already had to deal with something similar a few times already.
