View Full Version : Alizee & Jeremy's Marriage Certificate

Quentin
21st July 2005, 18:41
I was browsing the net today at work and thought.. hey Alizee was supposed to have been married here. (Las Vegas, NV- USA) So I searched public records and found her certificate. People used to be able to order copies of certificates... the site doesn't have the feature anymore.

I'll post a link soon.

You can see the screenshot on the link below.

That's why we have the Press (http://www.alizee-fanpage.com/page.php?language=en&content=press) section on the FanPage. About 90% of the articles there have been translated into English by Backinblack, myself, and a few others. The top article that Dave posted happens to be one of the few without a translation, but the bottom one does:

Ah no... he's a bit wacky for sure, but basically OK. He's even harsh on Mylène, that's just his style. Kam goes through obsessive phases. He loved Alizée for awhile, then Priscilla. He's not crazy about either anymore, but he doesn't hate them (though I guess after living on both sides of the fence, he's come out somewhat critical of their dotting fans). Now he's more just into French music in general, and Jpop.

Hmm, we do often say that, but it's more accurate to say that we don't know if the marriage has been legalized in France yet or not. The French Civil Registry recognizes Las Vegas marriages once some basic paperwork is filled either by mail or online: http://www.consulfrance-losangeles.org/article.php3?id_article=371&var_recherche=marriage. It's not like they'd need to have another ceremony - or even go anywhere physically at all - to legalize this. So that makes it very hard to say if they've done so or not (from a quick search, these French records are not as easily accessible to check as the Vegas ones).

besides: Alizée told that she wanted a married like "a princess, with white dress, many friends etc." ...
So i think they marry anytime 'again' in France, maybe in Ajaccio
Yeah, maybe... but then again, we don't actually know what the ceremony was like so she may have already had something like that. Apparently, they tied the knot at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel in the Excalibur (can just make that out in this scan (http://www.daniel-branke.de/fotografie/fansupport/sm_marriage%20certificate.jpg))... which, while admittedly a bit tacky, seems very capable of hosting a traditional "white wedding" (360 panorama (http://www.showhotel.com/excalibur/panorama2.htm), and a couple reviews on yahoo travel (http://travel.yahoo.com/p-reviews-2830285-prod-travelguide-action-read-ratings_and_reviews-i;_ylt=ApFaEjIKS5LPLAojHerkPAePFmoL)).

DavidAlizée

My unlce got married in vagas in 2000, i checked the online search, and there names are listed. He said, there marriage ceremony was the usual. I don't really know what i meant by that, he had to go. But, from what i can gather, there are two main types of ceremonies. White wedding and registry office. I don't know how long Alizée was actually in there for, but apprently, from what i can gather.. i did not see any of her friends or family at all. No pics of them togeather, getting into lots of cars or nothing. So, my best guess is a registry office. Or, did they run away togeather in secret to get married =)

If her family and friends were there, surley we would have seen some of them.. in some sort of picture. If the wedding is legal or not.. it doesnt really matter, it is not going to change anything. Weather it is legal in France or not, it doesnt really mean anything. It used to be cool to say that when people were deeply in love with her..

It kinda makes things ok.. but now, it doesnt matter.

Snatcher42
23rd July 2005, 17:44
It was almost certainly not a registry office wedding, as it was done in that chapel (see above) by one "Reverend William M. Duckro" (registry weddings are usually done by a Judge). That Excalibur Casino is really flash (check out the site), I bet they lived it up large on that trip in chintzy Vegas style. :)

But yeah, I've always felt the most important thing isn't the legality, nature of the ceremony, or anything like that. All that matters is how seriously they want to take it... that's what counts.

Alright, with all this talk about them being married in amercia but not in France, technically wouldn't that make Alizee's baby legitimate in america, but in france a Bastard. hummmm...................

DavidAlizée

No, Alizés's baby was born in France, so she is French. It doesnt matter where she got married, it has no effect on her baby like that.

you do know what bastard means right?

Definition:
Bastard: An Illegitamate child
and for those who dont know what illegitamate means....
Ilegitimate:born of unmarried parents

and there for, they are not married in france....soooooooo..................
(nothing to do with where you were born matters if your parents are married)

DavidAlizée
26th July 2005, 11:37
I don't understand. If bastard means " Born with unmarried parents" how is Alizée's child a bastard? She was married before she gave birth..

It doesnt matter if they were married on the moon, Alizée's child is not a bastard or an American. Ive always been led to believe "bastard" means when your father dies.

Well, i see what you are trying to say,but nope. My uncle was married in Vagas in 2000, and according to him, there is a simple form he had to fill in and it is legal in UK. So, chances are.. Alizée filled the same form in. From what i believe, it doesnt matter where you get married, aslong as you hold a certificate of marriage, it is legal in any country. So all along, i guess it is legal in France afterall.

Alizée could be married, but she could keep her last name!
If she kept her last name, so has her dougter the same name!

Normally takes the Women the name of the Men, whe they marry,
but you can decide what name you will have.

Quentin
26th July 2005, 17:09
I don't know how its done in France but here in America it is only tradition to take names, it is not forced by law.

For instance Alizee Jacotey and Jeremy (what ever his name is) can keep their names. If the child were born here, then too would Alizee have the right to name her what ever she wanted.

Surnames were traditionally used as a reference to ownership, thats why the woman took the man's last name... because back then, women had no rights.

When I married, I did not allow her to take my name, and she didnt want to take it.

I don't think Alizée will take Jérémys name. I think, as a celeb it is a whole different ball game. If you look at Hollywood, lots of married celebs have different surnames. Regards to Anny-Lee, i assume and also hope she is named Jacotey. I want that name to carryon in the the Jacotey family tree for a long time. Her mother will be so proud for Alizée's child to carry the family name on, it would be unfair on her if it called anything other than Jactoey. She always dreamt of giving birth as a young mother, i hope she gets the chance to live her dream totally, and to carry on the family name through Anny-Lee.

Snatcher42

I also think Alizée will keep her last name, for the reasons mentioned. Anny-Lee I have no idea about, but I think a hyphenated name is very possible.

Yes, occasionally I check Jérémy forums. They don't talk about it much because it happened a year and a half ago... old news. And only this forum really keeps getting a steady flow of new members to keep being surprised and bring it up again. :) That, and it's just more common knowledge in France. It's not a big topic on French Alizée forums like the Alliance either.

Just say the name: Anny-Lee Jacotey several times. It just sounds right.

Why does it matter if their marriage is legitimate? Celebrities here don't care. How they feel about each other and Anny-Lee is what matters.

If Jeremy doesn't care properly for Alizée or Anny-Lee, we, her fans, will descend upon him and he will regret his trespasses.

Anny-Lee will be beautiful and well cared for.
