Ive been a few times when i was little, i always just got my teeth cleaned, and only ever had to have 2 out, because they were growing at the back of my mouth too fast. ( when i was 11 )

Luckily, my teeth are in perfect shape and nice and white. << like his

I don't mind the dentist. As Mord said, it's a lot of pain. But it's no problem.

When I was younger though... I would not go near the dentist.

Coincidentally, I had an appointment on Monday. I went, and everything was fine. It was just a routine cleaning, and they got an x-ray for this session. No cavity, no problem.

I haven't had a cavity since childhood. The only time in recent memory when the dentist caused me anxiety was when I went to get my wisdom teeth pulled out, all four of them, but that was the orthodontist, not the dentist. The upshot was they gave me powerful painkillers (Lortab 10), and that was fun.

Some of them are real professionals, others aren't, I don't know what to say. Last time I visited the dentist, was during the 12th grade, at the age of 18, when I had 2 of my molars inlayed. The dentist did a pretty good job I may say. :D

My dentist said,everytime,that it's okay.

Me teeth are really bad now.I have brushed them to hard ( my new dentist said it )
i can't have braces for the little space between my 2 tooth and he said i have some tooth-stones between my teeth

God i hated my first dentist

I had 7 teeths removed when I was 10-11....it was either that or gettin' braces...and I refused to have braces.

my teeth were growing on each otherI had much more teeth than a normal person, but that's all fixed now :D

Yes, as long as you brush regular, take care of your teeth and eat the right foods, your teeth should be healthy.

Indeed I've not got any bad teeth but I do have a crown on one because it got damaged. I bit down on some really burnt pizza and my tooth cracked it was horrible.

omg, a similar thing happened to my friend. He actually got his tooth removed, and told everyone he got a Gold one put in. 6 months later, we found out he just had a normal one put it, and painted it Gold. The paint he used was AIRFIX paint.. so it was almost impossible to remove from teeth. he had to go back to the dentist when we found out, and explain to him.. why someone 19 years old painted his tooth Gold. :P

I guess you had to be there to laugh .. lol

I was at the dentist for a check-up earlier this summer (no problems)... but man, he's gotta be the most high tech of all my doctors: xrays, computers, gadgets... it's like having your teeth cleaned on the bridge of the starship enterprise! :)

That's the kinda service you get when the clinics aren't all state-run. But really, going to the dentist is fine with me. Or orthodontist, optometrist, etc...

Ah no, free for me too... but only for one more year, and then my student health insurance disappears in a puff of smoke. Gotta use it while I still can! Today I visited the optometrist... :)

Throw me into the heap. After two years of no problems with my wisdom teeth, apparently my mouth has decided it doesn't like my lower left one in there. My gum has swollen up (really damn painfully) back there and I can't even close my teeth together. Went to the dentist, and now I have to manually inject this fluid medicine in my own gums with a big syringe twice or three times a day for over a week. No chewing for a week, plus injecting my own gums. Goddamn you, teeth.

DavidAlizée
23rd July 2005, 18:13
ouch, sounds painful. Yeah, nothing you can do about wisdom teeth..

Whiskey is the best cleaner to use for teeth.. and your mouth in general =)

I don't have to do that, here in Sweden it's free (you have to) go to the dentist until you're 18. Then you have to pay...

Mr Bond
26th July 2005, 23:57
Mordecai yes the same is true here (although it can be v hard to find NHS - National Health Service dentist) so in Sweden do you have a national health service? Is it just dentist treatment that is free?

I figure if you want to make going to the dentist cheaper, then do it this way:

Get as many friends and relatives to agree to pool their money together. The more people join, the better. When one of you has to go to the dentist, the cost is divided among all of you. If you get 25 family members together with one person going on a certain day, then any person in that group would only have to pay 1/25th of the total cost of the visit.

This is basically what insurance companies do, except on a larger scale. The only difference is that your arrangement is made for mutual benefit, while insurance companies are only doing it to make a profit, so they tack on a higher price to keep the difference for themselves. (Profit-taking)

DavidAlizée
27th July 2005, 00:43
Or just pay the bill, it is not really expensive!

Bondius
27th July 2005, 08:06
Depends on the job ... most are expensive :what:

Well when you go to a Dentist in turkey for example they are very cheap... and experiment with your tooth also for very cheap, as people told me. I don't know if its true, but those op's with your teeth are not that save as I've heard it. And when you pay very very high in germany, you get a much more save OP.

Sometimes I think I'd rather die of a thoothacke than go to a dentist ... I don't know, when I see all those drills and pincers I get spooked ... even the doctor can't be that bad.
