Since this is the largest Alizée article for quite some time in a non-tabloid magazine, I thought I'd start a new topic for it, along with some other recent press scans. All are from nidalizee.

Star Pocket Translation:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
between the protege of mylene farmer and the candidate of the <Star Ac' 2>, that could only be a spark! When they meet in March 2003 on the plateau of the transmission < Eurobest>, the rebel falls under the charm of the lolita in a mini-skirt. Spotted by < Graines of Stars >, Alizée is already the sexy star des ados?, but there is nothing that could intimidate the young songwriter. Very fast/quickly, the 2 lovers of 18 years did not leave themselves more (time?). they married themselves in secret, at Las Vegas the 6th November 2003. Today, Jeremy and Aízée are said to imitate Jenifer.

Snatcher it's so odd to be reading of Alizee stuff like this where we don't really have anything to discuss being true or not. Anyway, RR I didn't know you could understand French too, impressive.

Not bad, RR. The idiomatic expressions are always the most difficult parts to translate, especially in the teen magazines. Here's my version:
Jérémy Chatelain and Alizée would also like to have a baby
Between the protégé of Mylène Farmer and the Star Ac 2 candidate, nothing but sparks have been flying! When they met in March 2003 on the "Eurobest" show, the rebel fell under the charm of the lolita in a mini-skirt. Discovered by "Graines de Stars," Alizée was already the sexy star of the teenage crowd, but that wasn't going to intimidate the young writer-composer. Very quickly, the two 18-year-old lovebirds became inseparable. They apparently even got married in secret, in Las Vegas, on November 6, 2003. Now, Jérémy and Alizée say they are ready to imitate Jenifer...
The Fan de scan:
A new happiness!
Beginning of their romance: March 2003
Their story: from the moment he met Alizée's gaze, Jérémy succumbed to her charm. As for Alizée, she couldn't resist the talent of the ex-Academician. Very private about their love life, the two young people prefer to live hidden, away from the photographers, in order to preserve their secret garden. As they say: "To live happily..." The gamble has paid off! What's more, according to certain rumors, not only did they get married in the strictest intimacy, in Las Vegas, in November 2003, the singer is also apparently expecting a baby...
The Monde des stars article is mostly a rehash of older interviews. They also managed to spell the name of her second album incorrectly.

well, i don't speak French at all.. but, i often miss-spell words in English to write short hand, and i have seen the same kinda thing done in English news papers. Maybe that can answer ur Q James... imo,
Its the same with Alizée's speech, someone said in another thread.. She gets called stupid because she doesn’t say basic French words properly. Maybe it’s the same thing. It all depends on what part of UK you come from, people pronounce the English language wayyyy different. Im sure its the same in french too.. Im sure Alizée does the same as most people. I don’t claim to pronounce every English word perfect. So how can people jump on her for not pronouncing the French correct... stupid.

You seem to have a pretty good command of the English language. Why not just try to translate some songs from the English translations on the fanpage first? Just to get to understand things again. Yep, i know that slickis, that was my point. She speaks Corsican, and people say she is stupid because she doesnt pronounce French properly. When, infact.. she is more than likely talking part her language and part French.
From what she's said in her interviews, though, she doesn't speak Corsican (Corsu), apart from a few words and phrases. She does speak French with a Corsican accent (more specifically, the Ajaccio accent, since you probably know that there are regional differences even on a relatively small island). It'd be interesting to know, however, if she attended one of the Corsican primary schools that had some instruction in Corsican. It would also be interesting to know how much Corsican her dad knows.
Some French people say that she doesn't articulate herself very well in interviews, which is true, but she's not alone in that regard (after watching interviews of kids and reality TV contestants who can barely string a coherent sentence together without using voilà quoi). People may think it's easy, but it's got to be difficult, considering some of the questions she has to answer. However, from all her video interviews, I haven't come across any phrases that would make her seem different from a typical Parisian, for example. When she's on TV, she's speaking standard French, the French she learned in school, due in no small part to the long-running effort of the French government to marginalize regional languages. When she's with her family and friends in Ajaccio, I imagine she uses colloquialisms which include bits of Corsican ("toc de mac" being an obvious one).
The most obvious difference between her accent and that of a standard French speaker--one not containing any regional inflections (Breton, Alsacian, Toulouse, etc)--is the 'r'. In standard French the 'r' is a uvular sound. In her case it is actually a uvular trill (a sound that I have only been able to duplicate on rare occasions. Spanish speakers may have an easier time with it, though). Other than this, her speech isn't nearly as accented as speakers from other regions of France.
(These perceptions were influenced in no small part to having recently done some homework for my linguistics class :P )

From the JPVA Fete de La Musique subtitles as it was spoken by Alizee then translated:
Host: There is a song in the album, Alizée, that is called "Toc de mac".
Alizee: Yes!
Host: What does that say, "Toc de mac"?
Alizee: It is an expression from Ajaccio that when one likes something, one says that it is "Toc de mac". It is well, terrific.

You can then compare them to what you get in French. It just seems like it may be easier to get to understand everything again.
Thank you, ternuc. Now I have an official confirmation about my good English  To be honest,I even didn't consider that option at all because the English songs are so familliar to me ("I'm not twenty" and "I'm Fed Up").And I will do that as soon as possible.
Considering translating Her French songs into English (which has been done already)-it's different. For example,"JEAM", when translated into English,is a little bit different than "I'm Fed Up".(I mean the words of the song, not the title)
And yeah,I do that all the time.I translate the song into Serbian, and then go to the forum and check the English translation. It matches in 98%,maybe even in 99%,but sometimes I don't know the right translation in French,so I check the English translation, yet sometimes there is some other expression for that in Serbian language.
Example:in "Lui ou toi" there is the line:
"Moi,sans les deux j'ai du vague a l'ame"
The English translation is:
"Me,without the two of them,I have a wave in my soul"
But in Serbian language, there isn't any expression with "waves".We say that there is "a storm in my soul".So some expressions are different, and I must check it with my teacher, but it will take some time...
Backinblack
28th February 2005, 18:35
Hmm, the English translation of that line on the fanpage isn't really correct. In French it fits in well with the previous line, comme l'eau aime la vague, but being a literal translation, "a wave in the soul" doesn't really mean anything in English. In French, vague à l'âme means something like "melancholy"; avoir du vague à l'âme would mean "to feel blue or melancholic."
However, "a storm in my soul" would be a very descriptive way to describe "melancholy." 8)

AHm...
Did I understand the Mylène Farmer scan text correctly :
Mylène is intending to have another "castle" (my home
is my castle :-)" on Corsica... ?
At last there - nearby where Alizée's parents are living -
in Ajaccio ???
So , if Alizée is going to be mother for some years, living
also on Corsica (I think at her parents for the first time)
the two - Mylène and Alizée - can short-term go out for a
coffee in the streets of Ajaccio and have talks about future
plans of Alizée's career...
Insofar no bad news!
Secondary, all this gives me another hint hat Alizée is indeed
awaiting a baby - to be born at corsica and not in Paris -

At the end of 1999, Graines de star traveled to Corsica. After coming to Ajaccio to sign up for the dance category with her friends, Alizée wasn't left out in the cold. Her friends, who didn't get picked, insisted to Laurent about her cute little voice. Laurent then pushed Alizée to sign up in the singing category: "Everything we were hearing then were big voices à la Céline Dion and Lara Fabian. She was between Vanessa Paradis and Jane Birkin. That changed things. Also, she really shone in the spotlight. We were looking for emotion and she really had it..." The gamble paid off! Singing a song by Axelle Red, she was a unanimous choice. Barely 16 years old, picked up by Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, she found her first big success, a real hit, Moi... Lolita.

A Baby Soon for Alizée
For several months now the rumors have been flying around! A picture appearing in Voici revealed the good news: Alizée Jacotey and Jérémie Chatelain are going to become parents. Inspired by their close friends Jenifer and Maxim, the couple had already intimated their desire to have a baby at 20 years of age. The young girl from Ajaccio should give birth around April or May, before setting to work on her next album. According to the rumor, she's going to have a girl. Our best wishes to the future parents!
The second scan is talking about Mylène's business projects; from her production companies, she earned several million euros in 2000 and 2001, including revenue from the 2.6 million records that Alizée has sold.

For Melodramatic and others
Until today, we didn't see a new Cd, above all her Record Company condamned her to silence! But, the Mylene Farmer ex-protected is going to play her most pretty role(at last- how it is said in Gala):being a mother. The couple she forms with Jeremy Chatelain, the ex-Star Academic, can attack the lullaby repertory... That will change a bit! Sexometer. For sure, she makes a great jump (more than 65 places!), but once more, the spicy girl from Corse will find herself in the position of the most envyed from the classification... Or, at her age , that truly won't be very reasonable!!!
I hope I didn't make too many mistakes in my translation, anyway I am sure BackinBlack will correct me

2004 Ranking: 4th
News: Still no CD in sight, especially since her record label sentenced her to silence! But Mylène Farmer's ex-protégé is, however, getting ready to play her most wonderful role (as Gala says): a mom! The couple that she formed with Jérémy Chatelain, the ex-Star Academician, can tackle the list of lullabies...Things are going to change a little!
Sexometer: It's true that she took a huge slide (down 65 places!), but one more and the stunning Corsican would find herself in the most desired position of the rankings...Well, in her current state, that wouldn't really be sensible!

Basically the FHM 100 sexiest is all based on Hype
In england this year, Cheryl Tweedy from girls aloud was number two, hmm...
Basically, it's whoever has been in the spotlight most is who gets voted in the higher echelons of that poll...
If Lili releases a few singles before the 2006 edition, watch her jump back into the top 5 again, whether we like it or not...
Thanks for the tranlations y'all. Did they drop her rank because she hasn't put out a CD yet or becaue she's pregnant? I'm confused.
I think it's really because she's just out of the public eye. She's not out there to remind them to vote for her ( ) so she just doesn't come to mind. I'm sure if you took a lot of the girls above her and asked someone who voted to choose their preference between the two, they'd choose Alizée. :cheesy:

I guess, though there were also threads about it here and on the Alliance saying to go and vote... unfortunately, I guess we don't get the kind of traffic we did a year ago.
Well, I don't really see why people are complaining about her low placement now. Whenever someone would start threads about voting for her in FHM, people always say stuff like FHM is such a trashy magazine and they don't want Alizée associated with it, etc...

Well yes, basically though, we're talking about this cos it's a press scan, and it's a lad's mag, voted for by lads and in a way it's a credit to Alizée that she gets so high up the lists when she's not doing the things most "lads" like to see girls do, and being a mother and keeping herself to herself, respecting herself and being modest...that's not what gets people high on "lads mag" ratings.
All power to you Alizée, you're number one in so many hearts, that's so much more meaningful than anything else.

Yeah, i agree being modest doesnt sell. The only reason why people vote for her is not because she is a great singer ect.. It is because she looks sexy in JEAM. Even every poll that has been posted on this forum has a pic of her from her JEAM days. Every forum across the Internet when talking about Alizée is always about how hot she is in JEAM. So i don't know about this credit to her, or she hasnt done anything for a while so its great she is on these kind of polls.. Its all about sex and hot chicks.. not about how modest a girl is.

I don't get it. I thought it was Maxim that was "trashy." Not all lads mags are trashy, are they?
I get the impression that Melo thinks FHM's editors lowered her place ("Did they drop her rank..."), yes? Again, this was done by an online poll.

I didn't say any magazine was trashy. I don't read Maxim or FHM so I don't know if they're trashy or not. What I said was that other people thought magazines like FHM were trash. Just go look for any of the threads where people tell others to vote for her in an FHM or Maxim poll, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Exactly. We shouldn't put any stock in things like this because all it is is a poplularity contest and it really shouldn't affect the way we feel.

Alizée and Jérémy Chatelain, both 20 years old, are the happy parents of a little girl named Anny-Lee. The one who sang "Moi, Lolita" not so long ago is now a happy young mother. The singer married Jérémy from Star Ac in autumn 2003 during a trip to Las Vegas.

Yeah, probably never... but like most things it will reach a point where the truth is definitely known. Like with the marriage, which they even mentioned in her official magazine now. In the Alizée A to Z in ActuAlizée 9 they say J is for Jérémy, who she married in Vegas in Nov 2003.
I think it was at night 28-29.

I guess I could... but is 2 pages in French worth it? Hmm, here, I'll just type out what each letter is, sans explanations:
A is for Alizée (Duh)
B is for Boutonnat, Laurent
C is for Chorégraphie
D is for DVD
E is for Etranger (Foreigner, because of her success abroad)
F is for Farmer, Mylene
G is for Gourmandises
H is for Hypocoristique (Not sure what they mean. Something about a nickname?)
I is for Ile de beauté (Beautiful island, aka Corsica)
J is for Jérem' ou Jérémy Chatelain
K is for Kahn, Oliver (her manager)
L is for Lolita
M is for M6
N is for Note (I think they mean of the musical variety)
O is for Olympia
P is for Paris
Q is for Qualité
R is for Récompenses (Rewards... platinum discs, etc.)
S is for Spectacle
T is for TS3 (her tour producer, Thierry Suc's, company)
U is for Unique
V is for Voyage
W is for www.moi-alizee.com
X is for classé X (Some bad joke about her talent being XXL)
Y is for Yeux (Eyes)
Z is for Zidane ("Because she likes football. Why not?")

Super:
Alizée and Jérémy Chatelain are the happiest people in the world! On the morning of April 29th, the singer gave birth to their first child! The little Annah-Lee arrived eventually and in good shape. Together for more than three years, they secretly got married in Las Vegas last year, so that they could prove that they wanted to be together for life. And destiny gave them a reason because barely one year after swearing love and faithfulness to each other, they became parents. The arrival of their baby girl hasn't put their respective careers in peril. Taking advantage of being far from the spotlights for several months, Alizée has recorded a new album directed by Nicola Sirkis, the leader of Indochine. As for Jérém, he has also worked on his next opus which should be released in stores soon! All our congratulations to the happy parents!
I'm taking what the Super article says with a grain of salt. They say her album is already recorded? Hmm... They also say Alizée and Jérémy have been together more than 3 years. It's more like 2.

Mylène Farmer sued Voici for the article that was written way back in February 2004, the one that got us all worried about Alizée's career. She sued for the magazine having infringed on the rights she owns to Alizée's image, for saying that Mylène had let go of Alizée. This gives us more proof than ever that there has been no rupture between the two of them.

@ BackInBlacks scan
Its a waste of time sueing them, why didnt she use voici to put the record right, and say nothing is going on between them. I bet 90% of fans think there is still something going on between them. It really is so impotant to put things right, not to just sue them.
It would be a waste of time to start arguing with them in their own magazine. A tabloid is a tabloid. And when more people sue them, then Voici will get negative attention. And it's good.
I don't think Alizée or Mylène will give an interview to Voici. Why should they? Why would anyone want to give interviews to a tabloid.
But hey it's still nice that there is a magazine in France that let's students publish their articles and pays to them. So this way those people can continue their studies in whatever school they are currently in. And in the future they will perhaps become good journalists and get a job in a real newspaper or something.

Golden "Lolita"
Moi Lolita, composed by Laurent Boutonnat and Mylène Farmer and sung by Alizée, garnered the top spot among the most exported French music products in 2002-03, the SACEM announced, based on royalties earned in 2004. It moved in front of Comme d'habitude (Claude François/ Jacques Revaux/ Gilles Thibault), which occupied the top spot last year, and Le boléro by Maurice Ravel, who has another composition ranking in 8th place on the list: his arrangement for the Tableaux d'une exposition orchestra by Russe Moussorgsky. As in previous years, three mainstays of French music were classified in this Top 10: Les feuilles mortes, (4th), La vie en rose (5th), et La mer (6th), followed by Désenchantée, by Laurent Boutonnat and Mylène Farmer (7th), Starlight (Guillaume Atlan et Sydney Benichou), and finally, YMCA, the disco song by the Village People, composed by two Frenchmen, Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo.
Alizée and Jérémy Chatelain
Alizée (Leo) and Jérémy (Libra) are sailing along together towards adulthood. As often happens in the beginning of a relationship, they're floating among the clouds: Jérémy is under the charm of his "little woman" and Alizée is blossoming in the presence of this big romantic. Although they're still very young, they're ready to assume responsibility. The proof: the birth of their little Anny-Lee, on April 29th. For the time being, this new family life is spurring them on. But like all young mothers, Alizée risks being overtaken by events. Certain people in her environment, acting on bad intentions, could be looking to take advantage of her sudden fragility. She'll have to learn how to rely on her man, since Jérémy wholeheartedly believes in their future together. In October 2005, they'll be overcome with the same thirst for recognition and success. A duet in preparation?

Mother Alizée
The young Corsican singer and Jérémy chalelaine, ex-contestant of star academy, are the happy parents of Anny-lee since the 29th of April. The two (tourtereaux?), aged twenty years old, married in the Fall of 2003 in Las Vegas. Came to lighten up their lives by giving birth to this little girl. Anny-Lee without a doubt will become play friends with Aaron, the son of the other star, friends with the couple, who isn’t other than Jenifer.
Alizée, the baby for love
At only 20, like her friend Jenifer, Alizee brought a child into the world, a little girl, the dad none other than Jérémy Chatelaine. Her lover for 2 years. According to gossipers, this pregnancy was too early. We rather think that the baby was for love. Nothing is more beautiful than to have a child when in love. benficabeatsporto, your translation was pretty good, although I made a few minor corrections. I also did the first article, just to be complete and so I can add them to the FanPage. BTW, I think the couple in the first picture is Kylie Minogue and Olivier Martinez.
The Charms of the Island of Beauty
Each year Corsica attracts its share of personalities in search of calm and relaxation between the sea and mountains. In general, after partying, people abandon St Tropez to relax on the beaches of Porticcio or Porto Vecchio. Flavie Flament and Benjamin Castaldi, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, Hélène Ségara, Alizée and many others are unconditional fans of the island of Beauty. Definitely an addict, Christian Clavier decided to take up residence by buying an estate… perhaps a remembrance of L’Enquête corse? And to be even more of a haven for the paparazzi, why not simply stay in the water? That’s the solution Kylie Minogue and Olivier Martinez chose last year. They took advantage of the situation to christen White Wings, their 15-meter long Sailboat bought for 265,000 € by the singer.
Mother Alizée
The young Corsican singer and Jérémy Chatelain, ex-contestant of “Star Academy”, are the happy parents of Anny-Lee since the 29th of April. The two lovebirds, 20 years old and married in the fall of 2003 in Las Vegas, see their life illuminated by giving birth to this little girl. Anny-Lee will without a doubt become play pals with little Aaron, the son of another star and friend of the couple, who is none other than Jenifer.
Alizée, the baby of love
At only 20 years old, like her friend Jenifer, Alizée just introduced to the world her first child, a little girl, whose daddy is none other than Jérémy Chatelain, her lover of almost 2 years. According to gossipers, the pregnancy was too early. We’d rather think of it as the baby of love. Nothing is more beautiful than having a child when one is truly in love, like Alizée and Jérém’! We wish them only one thing: lots of happiness.

Seriously, I don't know why Jenifer is still with Max if he doesn't want to marry her.

I get first dibs on her. :flowers:
If Maxim stays out of the spotlight, it's not entirely by choice. His movie wasn't received well at all neither by critics nor by the public. Like Ben said, not a smart move either to call off the wedding. Come on. Although I suppose it's better to stay single instead of getting married without fully wanting to go through with it. From what Jenifer says, he's a good father, so at least he has that going for him.

Shouldn't one want "to go through with it" before having a child with her? (And shame on him if it was an accident). Eh, I really don't know enough about Jenifer & Maxim to comment more, but the whole thing just sounds  to me. At least it makes Lili and Jerem seem all the more mature.

My thoughts exactly, Snatcher. Hopefully Alizée and Jérémy will be the good examples for all.

well, just because two people have a child togeather, doesnt mean they need to marry. Sometimes, two people are happy as they are, marriage can sometimes spoil things. If two people are happy, and he is a good father, that is all what counts. The same goes for marriage, just because Jérémy married Alizée, it doesnt make him a good husband.

Well after her wanting to get married and him calling it off (following a year-long engagement), and having left her for a time before finding out she was pregnant, it just doesn't sound like the best situation. We've yet to hear of any such heartaches from the Jacotey/Chatelain abode, and hopefully we never will!

Yes, one should want to "go through with it" before having a child, but if he had a change of heart, it's better for Jenifer's sake if they didn't tie the knot.
Here's a translation of the article. I think "planner" is what she was actually looking for; usually "journal intime" is what they use for "diary".
A planner isn't everything, is it?
At the end of June, in Paris, the singer caused a real scandal at Chanel. The young mom wanted to buy for herself a pink planner, no matter the cost, but the shop was sold out of them. They had to call all the Chanels across the globe, before finally locating the rare pearl in the shop in New York. Alizée can do nothing but wait for her planner to arrive in the mail. But considering her impatience, it's going to seem like a long wait for her. Like a day without a notebook...
The title is a play on the expression "plaie d'argent n'est pas mortelle", which means "money isn't everything"; literally, "problem of money isn't deadly".

Ty... Maybe she needs a planner so badly because she has to remember all those dates related to the recording of a third album? :dribble:

Thanks to rozier, we know that Voici is just being stupid as usual:
Someone contacted the Chanel store in Paris, and it appears that Alizée didn't cause any scandal. Since the pink planner was in the catalogue but not available at the Paris store, the saleswoman called the branch in New York, as is the custom when dealing with well-known clients. The planner was available in New York, so she booked the order in Alizée's name. Alizée left the store satisfied without causing any controversy, contrary to what Voici would have us believe.

The sad thing is that the Voici story says exactly the same thing, except they just used the word scandal to describe it.
It sounded along the lines of "Alizée caused a huge scandal today at a grocery store when she went to buy a Snickers bar. The store was out of Snickers, so Alizée had to buy a Twix instead."
They just described some mundane encounter, then threw in the word scandal for no reason.

Yeah I knew where it was supposed to be but the image would never load. But now it does, although slowly. I guess imageshack is having some problems today.
Anyways, I think it's funny how Voici's writing articles about the most mundane, everyday things that Alizée's doing and trying to sensationalize it. I guess that proves she's not as unpopular in France as I previously thought.

I think she knows that we are happy about the pics.
And she wants that we know what's happening with her,
but the bad-thing is that they hurt her private-life....
She wants to decide about everything! Even about Press Photos!
But she can't control what the press makes...
I think also she's hard with herself. What's matter when we can see her in the Voici?
The Photos are all from public-places. Everybody could show her there,
so why it's bad when we can see her in Voici? ... i can't understand....
When the Press took Photos of her in her Garden or in her house,
ok, then i say it's a real hurt of her private-life, but not when the Photos was taking in the public!
Anyone have another link for that press picture? It's not showing up here.
But from what I read, that's the cutest 'news' I heard in a long time!
