Meh, I prefer all-out waterballoon fight with 15 of my friends and 10,000+ water ballons that lasts 3 hours. It is godly. Last time I came home with 28 bruises the size of quarters!

Is that a four inch barrel? Your not going to get good accuracy, go with an 18, 20, or 22 at least. Also, how come your bottom line feeds so far up the handle? I've never seen that, is this a brand new gun? If so, why no double trigger?

If that's an automatic hopper then i recommend you should have upgraded the barrel first, unless you like to shoot real fast, or charge. Even still a longer barrel can still help a whole lot.

Hehe, man, it's been ages since I've played too. I remember back in highschool me and my buddies would go play in woods in about 10 degree weather. The paintballs would freeze and freakin hurt like hell when they hit. Painful but fun!! I'm planning on playing it again sometime in February with a few friends. Looking forward to it.

haha, I love how paintball masks don't cover the top of your head, the back of your head, or your neck. I've been hit in all places serveral times.

I remember one match I was one of only two left on my team, and in the confusion of the seige two guys got in through the backdoor of the fortress, pinned me down with their feet, and shot me several times. lmao :P Too bad I only wore one t-shirt and shorts that day. I should have layered. I had welts. From then on, it was muitliple layers and a cup for me always (the cup gives you confidence to charge straight into fire w/o risking ur...balls)

Don't play at an official field, unless like mentioned above, you want to spend 150 + dollars in one day. All for what? Usually it entails falling down the stairs of a ctf fortress as the 20 older (and richer) opponents run in armed with angels, buschmasters, and autocockers, and a few paint grenades they figure work better when they actually pelt you with them like a softball. Getting hurt is not fun.

It's alright to not play at a grounds. You pretty much need good equipment. People who go to these fields rent tipmann 98's because that's usually all you can rent, and get destroyed.

I went with a modified Spyder TL, and mostly got destroyed. People will put their bushmaster or autococker on a 6 shot burst, and 1 hit gets you out of the game, so after that it becomes so unneccesary. And if someone has an Angel, there is no explanation for that. :roll:

It's a 14 inch barrel, size doesnt really make a diff, the pic doesnt show the whole thing. I do have a double trigger, its about a 80 gram 3 mm pull. and the barrel is a new barrel, cuz i bought the gun without a barrel.

And it is semi auto only because that's how (most) tournies are played

And the macroline (bottomline is the steel hose, this is rubber) feeds up the regulator, and the bottom part changes to adjust the air entering the gun

oh, I didn't realize there was a difference from rubber hose to steal hose and so it wasn't a bottom line. I am used to steel hose feeding into regulator. Is this a new thing as of lately? I don't know any new guns past about 2001.

Have you ever heard of the mighty typhoon? I think it's kinda an old marker, but it's slick. It's double barrel, and double hopper. It fires two at once. :P

haha, i've seen the damage rack up the most at the end of private games with friends, when it's time to "unload everything you have left" on each other in a free-for-all battle royale! There is no way to keep your gaurd up with people on all sides and behind you, best to focus on shooting one victum and ignore the fact that you are getting hit constantly. It's no longer "one hit out" its "50-200 shots and then the guy shooting you from behind is out (of paint)!" :P

It hurts a lot more in some places than others...

Let's see, the places I've been hit that hurt the most have been the Achilles tendon, neck, hand, and lower back. My friend HAS been hit just below the belt, and he says it hurts pretty bad. I'll take his word for it. Oh, and if it's cold outside, it hurts twice as bad :doc:

ahh the nostalgia.

I learned all in one educational match the proper use of grenades (finally) and the importance of not sneaking through the forest for too long.

We played at a large paintball field all day, w/ several fields. Anyway, this one was capture the flag, on the biggest one.

The field was wooded except a meadow with their base ( a clunky two story one), and our base (a smaller easy to defend building). A median connected the two meadows with the bases after a good distance, like a golf course. Woods on all sides made the long way. The game was about 35 on 35.

We had 4 guys defend (one for each of the three sides and doorway). the little base put odds in our defense because they could stick their guns out of the little slits on all sides and fire out while hiding, and ever get hit. So we also had our flag right in our base.

We knew the other team had it in the outskirts of the woods beyond the back of their base (they'd be stupid to put it in theirs.) the defense of that base made it look like archers from camelot, easy to shoot. So the rest of my team split up into two squads and plotted different paths to get out behind there undetected. We were mostly not detected, no one knew but the referee that followed us, and two random opponents in the woods but we dispatched them because there was like 15 of us. However we spent too long getting there, and at 10-15 mins, it was too late and the match was over.

Apparently the other team charged up the median and swarmed our base. Of course, they couldn't shoot inside it and hit anything becaue my 4 teamates stood to the side of the slits, so they dispatched a gaggle of opponents, and the other team couldn't make it through the door without getting it either.

But one guy changed everything by throwing a grenade through one slit (good throw). Of course it sprayed and got all 4 of my guys out, with no more defense, they took the flag and got it back to their base without hassle, without the rest of my team knowing. The whistle blowing finally made us realize we had lost.

Speaking of grenades, look up those paint bazooka's. It's so funny, no one buys them. We don't have "paint transports" and "paint helicopters" so why do you need one, to shoot a grunt? There is nothing but grunts in a paintball fight! :lol: Really, look up those things, they are too funny.

The worst I've been shot was actaully in the chest from like 40 feet, dunno why but that hurt pretty bad, and I've been shot from 5 feet in the back, that didnt really hurt that bad.

Ya I don't know why, but sometimes paintballs hurt, other times they just don't. Sometimes they are hard or not. They especially hurt when they don't break, and of course that is pointless because it doesn't get you out.

My worst so far was the top of my head where the mask doesn't protect, like my hair, (I had fallen down right during taking fire, exposing my noggin). ALso the back of the neck.

From what i hear, getting shot in the adams apple hurts so bad, and makes you feel like you were chocked or punched there. A friend got that, but it didn't happen to me thank god.

They hurt the most when people freeze their paintballs or use marbles, but let them because it damages their hammer and springs badly. :cheesy:

heh, I really don't think you can suffer permanent damage to the testicals from a paintball. I've had females give me a shoe to the nuts a few times (and I know this has happened to alot of other guys), and that doesn't cause irreversable damage either. (some of them get so melodramatic eh).

on the other hand, I've heard the eye is the only real thing that you should not get shot in. I've heard people have lost their vision forever.

After a game was over, a friend of mine made the wrong choice, he took his mask off. Of course people were test firing and playing around and such from all over, as we headed near a middle grouping point, so it's not a good idea. Only a short second after he unmasked himself, he got hit on his face directly below the eye. He is very lucky.

Yeah, if you ever go to an official playing field they always emphasize the rule to NEVER take your facemask off while you're on the field. They say if you get hit in the eyes it can cause blindness. And I have no reason to doubt them. So always keep your mask on!

The only real major injury I've seen while playing really had nothing to do with getting shot with a paintball. I think while running around, some guy fell and broke his leg.

i have recently decided to name my paintball gun my Sreen Name, Le Fidele. and my paintball team, Team Alizee, is has a nice ring to it. :cheesy: it took some convining of my freinds, but cause they dont know who it is, they agreed. i told them that its somthing new and different. i dont think they would agree if they know who she really was.

I love paintballing - although it can really sting if you get shot somewhere sensitive (inside thigh, inside arm, sides of chest, back of legs, butt cheeks etc). Luckily with all the safety gear you are pretty safe, neck protection and face protection are a must!

Haven't been for a few years, simply due to location and activities. Would love to go again though... last time we were winning so much that the "marshalls" (people who run the place) joined the opposition to help out. Those guys (2 of them) won single handedly lol.

Laser guns are good, but without the pain and the terrain (its usually indoors in the UK, whereas paintballing is in cammo gear in the forrest) for cover, its hard to get the adrenalin pumping.

I've played paintball a couple of times... but I think soft air gun is better!
I have a Beretta M9 (94m/s 0.2g bullet, Blowback, haven't tuned it anything yet)) (the original version is 9mm, love that gun) but I save money for another one. Dual M9 with 4clips each (thats 8x26= 208 bullets and what I can't do on 208 bullets can't a squad do ;) ).

I like soft air gun more cuz you can play in T-Shirt if you have a mask. Sure it hurts when a bullet traveling in 162m/s hit your inner-thigh from 3m (I almost killed that guy. You don't fire a sniperrifle on 3m) we often play in T-Shirt and regular pants on practice (our team) then you won't care so much of you get hit in a real game (three guys have left our team due to the practice :D). Sure , you follow the rules and "die". But you won't be off for the pain.

But the most funny is that it's always one or two that say "Where is your rifle?" I answer "I don't like neither need a rifle." then they laugh. But I beat most ppl with dual guns (I rent dual guns when it's a real match, but play with one gun on practice)

It was always better not to attend these pro places, but to get all of ur mates, split into 2 teams, and head out to the nearest forrest. Fantastic times yes!

Paintball isn't dangerous, if you are safe. You MUST wear safety gear on your face. A ball traveling at ~250 feet per second can do major damage to the face, especially eyes. Other than that it's harmless fun, other than a little stinging and at worst maybe a welt. Just be safe. Also you should have a gun speed gauge (don't remember what they're called.. measures feet/sec), over 300 some feet/sec can break safety goggles.

A guy I know has a big forest as his back yard, we play there.. it's perfect, a valley with nearly identical hills going up either side. Creek going down the middle of the valley. It's great in the spring when the leaves fill out and you can't see anything.

It is fairly expensive to get started, and then paintballs over time drain a lot of money, but it's so fun. I'd recommend it to anyone. The best way to try it out is find a local field and play there a couple times, so you don't invest in a lot of expensive equipment and then don't like it. If you don't have a local field, well.. dunno =/

as for lazer tag, the only reason why i dont play is cause you can cheat.PayBays, have you heard of this new lazer tag game
? it uses electric shocks. and its impossible to cheat too!!!!!!! the sensor is on the gun so you cant cover it up when your shooting. and when you get it, its lets you know youve been hit. LMAO. saw it on TV, and this guy got ambushed by like 10 other guys. its AWSOME, expensive, but worth it.

and as for airsoft, what paintballer dosent have an arisoft gun. LOL. i have an MP5 SD3. shoots 320 fps and stings a whole lot, less expensive to play, but its good when you want to fool around with freinds in the backyard. :cheesy:

Airball, is a type of speed ball but nowa days its very different so we recognize it as either airball or speedball . airball is usually played in tournaments. Airball consists of Inflatable bunkers.

speed ball, which you probably know, is where there is constant firing of guns, no place to hide, BUT CONSISTS of Hard bunkers. from, wood, to plastic, to tires in your case.(basicly homemade bunkers that are hard but small like the inflatables)

out of that list, i would go with the freestyle. i used a naughty dog freestyle and that thing was sweet. it was fast, small, light and it was damn accurate. idk if you can get a freestyle in the $500 range though...

second choice would be the ion. i shoot an ion and i love it. people might say its just a plastic toy or its a wanna be shocker, but that just makes it more fun when you gog them. i would change out the trigger though.

the trilogy cockers suprised me. at first i thought "a $200 autococker? that must be a joke..." but then i shot one but it was actually pretty good. they also sell mounts now, so you can add an eblade. if you do get a trilogy, i would either go for the comp or the pro as they have a reg, and better grips out of the box. the pro also comes with a hinge trigger, delrin bolt, and a 2 piece barrel with 2 backs.

and like what bizz said, you can find some pretty cheap used timmys. we have a lot of timmy users here and they all seem to love it.

i never used a pimp before so i dont know how it is, but the trigger looks kinda uncomfortable to me. i also read somewhere that it is more similar to a timmy than an impulse.

im not sure about the freestyle being problematic because i never used one long enough for it to breakdown on me.

my best advice would be to try them first and see which one you feel more comfortable with

At my feild, before every game is played, they check the speed of the gun. if it doesn't meet requirments, then the player is forced to change it if he wants to play.

the only way i can think that you can !!!DIE!!! is if you get one straight to the adams apple!!!! (center of your throut right below your chin). other than that, its like getting stung by a bee, and then it goes away. :cheesy:

woodsball and speedball:

woodsball: usually you play in the "WOODS". someplaces, they have scenarios where they recreat famouse battles. just recently they had a scenario game where 1,100 people showed up in the snow/forest, to reinact stalingrad!!!!!! but yeah, woodsball is for forest play, where you wear camo, and dress up like your in the army. usually, like me, poeple like to get the mil-sim guns (military simulated guns) to give it that realistic look.

speedball: is what you usually see in magazines. this is wear somepeople make a living. tournaments are used in these atmoshere. inflatable bunkers. everything bright, fast, and usually you have to have the best of the best guns to keep up. skillz are important too.

sorry i havent been on awhile. my comp crashed so i lost all of my alizée vids and such. so im using my dads comp right now...cps is pretty much the amount of times a gun cycles in a second. cycles per second is a more accurate measure of speed because when a marker fires at like 30cps, there is usually no paint. a cycle is a complete actuation(dont know if thats the right word) of a marker. bps is balls per second.

i think a stock halo can burst up to 32 but i dont think it can feed a constant 32bps. they sell upgrade boards for halo that can supposedly feed a constant 35 and there is also the p.r. mod in which you stick a staple somewhere in the stock board and it bypasses this circuit resulted in some ridiculous feeding rates. bad thing is it kills the batteries fast.

i shot a karni before. the reversed angled reg makes it really comfy and easy to handle. if i find it, ill post a vid of a karni supposedly doing 54cps. i know thats not possible during a game but its nice to know that marker can handle it.

the latest gun from wgp is the 05 black magic. it has the e2 grip frame with different tourney modes, and they also removed the back block. personally, i dont like it. it just doesnt seem like a cocker without the back block. ill try get up a pic.

viewloader has a new hopper coming out call Vlocity. its a little wider than a halo, holds the same amount as an egg, supposed to be lighter than an egg, and its supposed to be as fast if not faster than a halo. couple pro teams such as dynasty and xsv tried it out and were happy about it(supposedly). heres a crappy pic

yes, but if you get a 21" for airball, its reduculously good!!!! and big, gives it a floating effect!

actually, i think a 14 or 16 is best for airball. its long enough to push the bunkers to the side and its not so long as to make switching hands difficult. also, a 21 can also ruin effecieny because of the excess friction on the ball which requires more air to propel the ball. its also been proven that anything after 14in, wont improve accuracy that much. but if you like the 21, then thats your personal prefrence...i think its cool just because its 21 inches and it makes the gun look like a rifle.

do you play real games? my freind has this 10 acre forest of trees, and we usually have about 24 of us, 12 on each side. basicly squads. and camp out in the middle of the night. each team has 1 night vision goggles, 1 sniper, 2 flares, 12 flashlights, a MUSt, every one wheres a glow stick!!! doesnt have to be showing, but no matter where you put it, it will shine through your back pack, or shirt!!! and each team is aloud to have 6 people with paintball guns, and only 6

and all night, we go at it. :P paintball and airsoft!!!! combined. oh yeah, WIFE BEATERS ONLY!!! :P those are our rules, other than that, its a kick ass time. :cheesy:

the sp8 sounds plain to a tourni player, but to a woodsball player(me) this is a dream come true, looks great. i mean superb!!!! its going to be the first electronuematic gun, with a stock 19" barrel, that is muffled!!!!!! the nice shell isnt just there for no reson. lol,
