What do you guys think of playboy magazines... and magazines of the same nature such Hustler? What do you think of those? Is it something that you enjoy... or as much as the naked body is beautiful, it's still a degrading thing for women regardless. A career killer or maker? Sleazy? Classy? or what? share share share.

Yet another sexually-oriented thread created by our friend Melo. Is that all you can think about all day? You're not even old enough to buy Playboys, and you're married, so why are you even looking at those magazines?

In the U.S. many would consider it shameful to pose for one of those magazines. Elsewhere (France, for example), it wouldn't really be shameful as long as it's done in good taste.

Now now, let's not get ahead of our selves. I never did imply that I read playboy magazines nor do I own one. Trust me, it's not my cup of tea & that would be disrespectful towards my bestfriend. I just wanted everyone's view on it. You never gave your personal opinion on it BIB. Don't be shy...like 'em or not?

Hmnm... I don't think "good taste" & playboy go in the same sentence together. Would you agree if Alizee decided to revive her career by posing for playboy? Some guy refered to her as an over-sexed sunken ship & posing for play would help her career. What dop you think of that?

Hmnm... I don't think "good taste" & playboy go in the same sentence together.
I disagree because, personally speaking, nudity has to be pretty damn graphic before I find it distasteful... I have alot of respect for a magazine with as long and prestigious a history as Playboy. It's done alot more than just publish pictures of naked women. As BIB pointed out, that level of nudity is more accepted in some places than in others (why a French Maxim magazine, for example, might have some)... I think in America there is a kind of boundary between nude and non-nude magazines, but on either side you still have a wide spectrum of respectability... and on the nude-side, Playboy is right at the top.

I don't think arguments saying that it's degrading toward women can really go anywhere - pornography's been around for ages, and that's not changing. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. It can be objectifying, yes, but that's an old story too... And I have no problem with men being objectified either. Just gotta keep in mind where reality ends and media begins. Of course, I have no qualms with someone disliking such material... but crusades against it seem silly.

Would you agree if Alizee decided to revive her career by posing for playboy? Some guy referred to her as an over-sexed sunken ship & posing for play would help her career. What dop you think of that?

Bringing Alizée into this discussion is asking for a mess. And no offense, but what do you think most of us will think of that? She's said in some interviews that she has no problems with tasteful nudity, and neither do I - but that doesn't make it a wise career move either. The naysayers would just point to it as confirmation of their attitudes. Like whoever made that ridiculous statement - I'm not even sure what they mean: over-sexed? I don't think there is such a thing. If they mean an overly sexy image, I don't think that's true, though the media does like to crucify her for that these days. But when she's ready to continue her career, she wont need the aid of Playboy to help her. Either she'll prove the press and critics wrong, or she won't, and will become an artist for us fans only... but regardless, she'll do it her own way.

And let me just echo BIB's statement, Melo... discussions are fine, and some of yours are even quite cool... but the nature and amount of them do start to raise an eyebrow...

I don't like this thread at all. There are certain women who do playboy, and certain men who look at it. I try not to associate with either.

Well, it can't go anywhere if she herself chooses to do it, but the aftermath is still there. People's perception of that person will definitely change. Pornography might've been around for long, & it may not be changing anytime soon, but its consequences are still there. Pornstars are never taken seriously in hollywood.

I dunno snatch, everyone has different opinions, so no mess at all. Just don't get too personal. If she has no problem w/ tasteful nudity, then that venue is open for her. Should a loyal Alizee fan be crucified for wanting Alizee in playboy? I think not. Not that that fan is me of course.

I don't think that's true, though the media does like to crucify her for that these days. But when she's ready to continue her career, she wont need the aid of Playboy to help her.

She may or she may not need it.

I remember the times you were trying to act mature. . .
Then there were times where you were running around, insulting people and throwing cuss words.
Oh and then of course the times you thought someone would actually care about those TMS shows and other similar topics which talked about different sexual interests etc.

As I see you once again didn't understand the meaning of previous post. It was of course, directed towards your MF nick. Or wait, you changed it. Just like you change the subjects of your topics after every 2 days like a little ******.

And hey it's sort of nice that now we have reached the time of you posting a whole lot smileys like it would really make a difference.

And another thing, you think someone actually cares whether you are married or not.( You are not the first 17 year old internet nerd who claims that he's married) Nowadays there are people getting married to toasters. So I don't think the idea of you being married to a rubber-wife would be too far stretched.

Really now, let's not get overly dramatic  . And umm...playing representative isn't really workin' for ya. You may not have taken any interest, but no one needs to follow ya. And if no one cared, some of TMS' wouldn't have taken off. I think you're the only one who isn't interested in them but there's no need to include everybody. Be thoughtful of your diction next time

A classic case of mistaken identity , or should I say "Imposed identity" . Don't confuse me with my friends. I mean I know we post alike but really now, MFI, those were the anti-alizee days. Get your head straight.

And hey it's sort of nice that now we have reached the time of you posting a whole lot smileys like it would really make a difference.

I know right? It is quite handy. I don't have to describe how I feel. How convenient for me! wohoo.

 That gave me the giggles. What an assumptive bloke you are. Did I ever want people to care I was married at 17? I don't remember bragging about it (that's my personal life), or did you just skillfully put words into my mouth? I never intended for my marital status to annoy you...my my, I'm sorry for that, but good luck with 40 b-day candles and w/ your 3 cats. I doubt anyone would want to be with you considering your horrid nature. Just a thought

Edit: You had the nerve to accuse me countless times to go off-topic. I appluad you for your innovative ways to go off topic. Congrats. 8)

there is a thing called the internet, and anyone who poses in a magazine naked is never "classy" . They are whores.

Well there is a very definate FINE line between smut and art, Im sure we all can agree on that, now take Playboy for example, Its been around since the 50's and granted it still has gotten much more....should we say DIRTY in the last 10 years than it previously had. But to me what makes Playboy different in its on right is the fact that there is nothing EXTREMELY LUDE in it, for thoes of you who have seen other mags besides playboy i would hope you would agree with me. I wont argue the fact that nudity is nudity and in that fact its all lude on SOME level, but to american standards Playboy is by FAR the most mild, some what tastefull, ever so slightly art driven composition of a dirty mens magazine. But there is an up side to reading them, they have decent editorials in them, not world class journalism by anymeans, but playboy ranks up atleast in my mind as where Maxim and Stuff are.

Im not attacking Joseph here but to say a woman who poses for playboy a "Whore" is way too conservative for me, granted im an artist who stares at nude people all day for figure drawing, and they get payed, so does that mean my anatomy nude models at school are "Whores" then as well, I for one think not, its anyone and everyones right to pose for someone, they way I think is if god has blessed you with a beautiful figure then why not be proud of it.

I agree. I don't have probs with nude paintings depicting something "artsy", not porny. But not everyone is receptive in an artistic sense & may take it the wrong way. I seriously doubt that playboy is aiming for that picasso feel.

Oh, and when I said whore, my view is meant on my self attraction to the person in the page, not so much the person themselves. My view is biased because I think a girl with a great body and even better clothes is more attractive than just the naked girl. ^^)

This thread is good? No I'm sorry, but after reading the first 5 posts or so it seems as this thread is one of those usual melo-type of threads which are suspiciously similar to Marcustro's. But his were more decent.

Awwww, isn't that sweet.

Dear Melo, I have come to the only obvious conclusion. You have a wife. And that wife is you. So that is letting me conclude that you are a transexual.
That would of course, explain all the weird topics you constantly make.
It would also explain your high level of interest in transexuals, bisexuals, homosexuals, cousin marriages and such.
