I need some input on some french musique for a wedding of my friends. They are doing a french themed wedding. So, I know I'm going to include some alizee songs. They gave me the responsibility to put together some french music. So can any of you help me put together a good song list of french songs that would be good for a wedding reception. And no I'm not going to just put Alizee's cd on repeat.

I like "A Contre courant" for sure. What other Alizee songs do you think would be good for a wedding, and what other artists/songs would be good? I kinda like Jenifer, Natasha St. Pier, and Allexe Red. But I need to know of others that are fairly new. Mylene Farmer is okay possibly too, just not sure what songs she's done that would be good for a wedding. Thank you for your help. Merci Beaucoup!!!

Hmm, that sounds like a great idea. As for Mylène songs, it kind of depends on if the people at the wedding can understand French, since she has a habit of writing melancholic lyrics, not really suitable for a wedding, even if the music is great. Still, you can't go wrong with C'est une belle journée. Other songs that come to mind, slower songs but with great music (and relatively upbeat lyrics), are Innamoramento, L'amour naissant, Serais-tu là, Eaunanisme and Rêver. As for Jenifer, I can think of a couple songs from her recent album: Le souvenir de ce jour and Serre-moi. For Natasha: Tant que c'est toi. When Moco sees this he'll probably think of some better ones.:)

You might also want to ask on the mf-international forum (http://www.mf-international.com); those guys would have a lot more ideas as well.

I'm just bumping this to the top so if others didn't see this thread they can give their input. The more songs I have to listen to and choose from, the better.

Merci.

Try Mylene's "Californie". Dunno if I spelled that correctly.
