HERE"S THE STORY ON IP BANS


If you enter your password three times incorrectly, your IP address is BANNED.

I un-ban IPs on a daily basis, so you'll have to wait 24 hours at the most.

NO-- there is nothing wrong with the hub, the software, and I do not have anything against you personally (although people that screw up their password and need their IP's reset three or four times are certainly wearing out my patience).

Common sense is the key-- if you screw up your password twice--STOP! Log in under a different nick and let me or someone else sort it out for you.

Once you log in the FIRST time successfully, follow BlackShadow's instructions for setting up "auto-login" in his earlier post.

If you have been banned for any other reason (like not sharing, blocking connections, or not having 1GB of vids in your share) you're OUT OF THE HUB. You get a total of THREE KICKS before you are banned: so contact me BEFORE you're kicked for the third time. You'll find I'm a reasonable person as long as I see effort is being made.

Here are the password instructions I send out periodically in a mass-mailing on the hub. THey seem to be a bit clearer than the default instructions:

------HOW TO REGISTER------

STEP ONE-- put "!userhelp" in main chat (WITHOUT the "quotes")

STEP TWO-- put "!regme (Password)" in the dialog box in Robocop.
(For example- if you wanted "1234" as your password, you would put in "!regme 1234")

STEP THREE-- Step three- shut down dc++

Step four- Re-start dc++ and enter your password in the dialogue box when it is requested.

(Entering your password will be required every time you visit the hub from now on,unless you 'auto-login" by entering your password in the appropriate space in your "Favorite Hubs" list)

Why am I banned from the hub?

Not that I care a lot as I rarely download anything anymore, so mostly asking out of curiosity.

Alright it said my IP is banned after I tried typing in my password twice.
The it didn't accept it. Do I have to type in these things...<>? I just typed in my password and it said it was incorrect. Now it says..."Your ASS is Banned." How am I supposed to get on now?

Well try typing in your pw the first time. If it doesn't work wait for someone to tell you what to do. I followed the directions and logged out, but when I tried logging back in it banned me after I tried typing in my pw like 3 times. So maybe stop after the 1st time if it doesn't work?

My position was that it was time to upgrade the hub software and scripting language. This would give us additional tools to thwart attacks like these, and virtually eliminate spammers, script bugs and spoofed IP addresses.

However, it was explained to me that this move would wipe out all the current settings and involve hours of work. Should this upgrade take place, the functionality of the hub may change, user accounts may have to be re-established and the hub could be down for several days.

Just keep connected and hopfully we will be back online shortly.

Once I have more information, I will post it.

AlizeeBoy pretty much is responsible for the spammer problem. He put the address up on some spam list, and digimaze responded by requiring everybody to register to download anything.

Unfortunately, you don't have to register to spam people with links to whatever websites. Before the hub went down, Digimaze said the only solution was to ban posting URLs completely, but that would also stop people from posting legitimate URLs, and it wasn't an option he liked.

Hi everyone!

I guess Digimaze found me giulty due to published alizee hub address and harming this hub. What a bullshit. Conversely ! I just wish this hub to be more secret and no any strange people to join this hub. It is well known that I want to protect Alizee and I cannot let anyone to insult her. Maybe my big effort to protect Alizee is too uncomfortable for some reasons to some users. It is known that Digimaze's wish is this hub to get more public and therefor i guess this is the main reason that Digimaze (and or Digimaze's group) somewhere put/placed the alizee hub address ! I would never do that ! I would wish on this hub to be only the users who can see Alizee not only like a woman for one thing...

I wouldn't be glad if i had to describe how the war has started...only if somebody would like to be interested in then i could post AlizeeBoy's and Digimaze's PM chatting in main chat. I will be very glad if I can share my Alizee files with other users (I have almost everything by Alizee)... but I'm gonna be sharing my files only with those users who do not insult Alizee. If somebody wants to ...we can make a deal and to meet us at another hub to exchange some files. My UL is 30-40 kB/s --> alizeeboy@gmail.com.
I don't know what Digimaze is thinking about this issue --> but it is not normal to disconnect me when I didn't show him my photo... and at the same moment as Digi did, Digimaze's friend disconnected me too and his share was deleted (on Digimaze's demand/command i guess). Digimaze's asking me for my personal ID continually. So i hung up on them and said a few warning posts to them and left the hub. Next time when I came back to visit hub Digimaze alreday has became/been the OP and began to command to me to whom I should or not give a slot. This is not normal if somebody is giving some ommands to me how to deal with my free slots. When i didn't do what Digimaze wanted then i was kicked out of the hub. I gave him a warning notice that I will get my share size down to minimum if he kicks me out again. That warning didn't help. Digimaze kicked me out again of course.
There are much more such users to whom Digimaze give some directions. Even in that time when Digimaze hasn't been the OP yet so...he was sharing just the minimum share and his own files were shared only with his friends.Digimaze insulted such users as Dj. Devon. Digimaze also wanted i to block Dj. Devon's connection... BTW, Dj Devon is the one of the best users who has created amazing Alizee rmxes.
Maybe I have made a few mistakes (such as disconnecting even good users etc. sorry to all)...but i like Alizee very much and i don't want me to be damned in your minds because of my excessive reactions. I don't need to download anything in here... I have everything, I am connecting here due to only the one - Alizée. This hub is very close to me, I was getting started my career in here as an Alizee's fan/newbie so you know...

...maybe some things are a little different than they really are.

I'm so touched of Alizée's music almost crying during listening to her music or watching any vidoes of hers..It's so an awesome experience...

If your intentions are so great then how come I saw so many people in there saying you disconnected them. All this talk about good users, bad users. I don't know the difference, I don't sit there while i'm in the hub and disconnect or moniter anybody.

Plus, countless times I saw you come in the hub and just cause disruptions over the stupidest shit. You'd try to test people's patience, play games. You'd just do stupid things. I'd be more willing to listen to your case if you weren't acting like an assclown yourself.

I do whatever Digimaze tells me to do, even though sometimes I think he exercises too much power too, and is sometimes unwilling to listen to my viewpoints and advice.

Hell I've been banned since that stupid password crap went into effect. I tried again today for the hell of it, no dice.

Right now it's not a real big deal but when she returns I will not be happy about this. Not happy at all. We shall see how digi handles this.

I suppose we could all just use the file hosting sites and post the links. For some, it's better than nothing.

At this point I don't know who to believe.

To people looking for videos, I suggest getting them from the DL threads on here. The good HQ files are there. Now the rare, hardly asked for stuff? Don't know what to tell ya.

Actually, with respect to the passwords, I'd recommend removing the ban if one fails for three times to get his password correct.

It would totally cut down on the workload. Besides, it's not stopping the spammers.

Digimaze says is the same error again, and that's why the hub is offline. Like I said before, in order to avoiding any loss of data after going offline, a back up of the settings files (at least) would come in handy.

i have a question about dc++, how do you stop it from continuing to try and download files? i started downloading a bunch of vids a while back and i just noticed that i dont have the space for them all... how do i cancel downloads?

That will still leave the temporary files on your harddrive. You'll want to go to "Download Queue" (button along the top) and remove the files there as well (right-click).
Or by simply pressing the Delete button, still in Download Queue, on the user and the files to download that are still highlighted (selected).

2) FASTER SEARCH FUNCTION: You will find that the hub software completes searches up to 3 times faster.

3) NO MORE SPAM: We have in effect virtually eliminated spammers from doing their nasty deeds in the Alizee hub.

4) ENHANCED FUNCTIONS: The "right click" menu has been greatly expanded with new features.

5) NEW RULES: We think you'll find the new hub rules clearer to understand and fairer to those of you that might be new Alizee fans. A copy of the new rules is posted below.

to share! Any attempts to prevent sharing with others will result in a ban.

Rule #4 Public chat is to remain on-topic (music-related subjects only). Foul
language or talk meant to demean others is banned. So that everyone
can participate and chat can be monitored, the primary language is English.

Rule #5 The OPs are here to help you. Failure to respond to their inquiries

Remember, everytime you want to connect to the hub, you don't have to type the password over again, it will be automatically stored from the hubs properties.

..and nothing happens, the userlist and chat is all black. Users on the hub can see our usernames but we cant see them :(

I didn't see anywhere saying I had to upgrade from version .401 for the hub. It may be listed somewhere but he didn't even give me a chance. All I wanted was a few minutes to straighten some stuff out before I were to upgrade(if it was totally necessary).

These posts are found by myself and many others to be not only offensive and slanderous, but are clearly OFF-TOPIC by the estimation of any reasonable person.

Now, potential users are floundering in "I hate digimaze/ I love digimaze" posts and can't find the information they need. This thread is not supposed to be about ME-- or people that have greivances against me-- because they refuse to follow the instructions of myself or one of my OPs on a timely basis and got kicked from the hub.

We average 50 to 70 users on the hub, with over 400 registered members. I may have as many as 5 or 6 chat windows from new users competing for my attention at any one time. We are swamped. Rather than lending credance to personal attacks agaist me, I would suggest that your leadership skills would be better utilized in helping out in the hub now, during the busiest time in our history. We have to make stunningly swift decisons about a new user- we don't always have time for someone who wants to play "lawyer" with the rules.

I know the hub rules quite well afer all -- I WROTE them. If you'd bother to check you'll find TWO facts:

First, I added a new rule:

"Rule #5 The OPs are here to help you. Failure to respond to their inquiries in a timely basis will result in being kicked."

Your friend spent TWENTY MINUTES arguing with me. What he posted was the VERY END of our discussion. I would think you would respect me enough to find out the FACTS before posting your "opinion."

Secondly, I am NOT an OP in the hub. I run the hub for Vid0 as the hub Master and select and train the OPs that are curently in the hub. I make the final decisions regarding the day-to-day operation of the hub. If you spent more time in the hub maybe you'd know that-- and would be more willing urge a spirit of cooperation rather than second-guessing my decisions. If you'd like to make a REAL contribution to the hub, then come join us and help make the hub a better place for EVERYONE.

I know I can't make everyone happy-- but I certainly do try. It is heartbreaking to me considering the countless hours I spend running the hub and helping new users and providing tech support for me to come here and read what you, a person of some authority, allow to be posted in this string. Since the only moderator that has replied to this convo isn't really a neuteral party since he's involved im going to play daddy.

For everyone with a problem with the management: Digi has a right to what ever he does on the server. I was wrong about him owning it, but he is the most active admin on there i find. As members of AF, we are guests that need to abide by the rules. If you get into fights and arguments with people that rarely come to the forum ( like digi) or other people, it makes us look bad as a group of people. Rule #5 is in fact to abide requests of the hub masters and not doing so results in kicks. If anyone has any personal problems with Digi, then just don't use the hub anymore if its that personal. Digi has worked his ass off over the past months with all the sever problems, you gotta give him that

For John: I really don't see the problem with upgrading you're version of the client John, i just did it and it only took about two minutes.

This is offtopic from the main topic of the thread, but this is simply untrue. Recentlly i made it public that i had gotten tired of Alizée and any of her music for the first time in two years and got a lot of hate posts and PMs from members. I've been making a big fuss about the moderators not doing all too much about this and most of the moderators won't respond to any PM's i've sent them in a while. Don't get me wrong, they do alot, but they are simply just ignoring me, probably for personal reasons.

In Closing: Digi runs the show on the server, deal with it. He doesn't usually come to the forum unless hes posting news about the server itself so people that don't want to make any contact with him, stop using the server and ignore any posts he makes here

Digi: As I said, I tend to agree with what Kneedeep was saying, which if you read it was that you were correct, but maybe overreacted (as frankly I've seen before... and now). I base that on knowing John - that he's not some troll or troublemaker. We'd certainly deal with him here for more than 20 min before taking any kind of official action. Something to keep in mind about older members like John is that they used to use the hub long before there was an active admin, so they may be surprised now to find things stricter. It takes time to adjust.

Also, we have deleted several posts in this thread with overly attacking criticisms toward you, maybe before you ever saw them, so don't start talking about this as some personal issue. Do you think I'm the only mod that checks here? In fact, when you PMed me about this before, instead of handling it myself, I rather passed the question along to all the other mods and admins to let them decide what to do.

I never said otherwise. I said that you don't own the hub (i.e., pay the bills), which is true. No offense, but don't talk to me about "real contribution." I was in the hub for a year before you joined, and have uploaded 465 gigabytes there. I've been trying to keep the FAQ here updated with all your latest instructions. I was even the one who told you about the hub in the first place! Unfortunately, my schedule and internet status as of late has just afforded me less time to connect than I would like.

Also, regarding what this thread should or shouldn't be about, I think we know since I created it, and as mentioned here (http://www.alizee-forum.com/topic,12152,-dc%2B%2B-threads.html), this is the place for all DC related discussion, technical or otherwise. Don't let that deter you from visiting, though. As I mentioned in a PM, criticism is just something we have to deal with (or ignore - your choice).

Last, just as an observation and piece of friendly advice: As mentioned, we've already deleted several complaints in this thread beyond what's still here, so instead of only blaming others, maybe think a bit about what you might be doing to cause all this. I know you're trying your best in the hub to keep it running smoothly, but sometimes it's easy to loose track of certain things.

I used to be there but about 2 weeks ago it no longer works. I'm registered, I have over 100GB shared, I have 2 slots open and I have ports forwarded correctly. When I go to connect, it just says "connected" and them immediately afterwards I get "disconnected" with no other explanation. What's wrong?

Yes, a later version of the usual DC++ client (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/p2p_software/p2p_applications/dcplusplus.cfm). Probably the hub rules say that you need certain DC++ clients. Digimaze could answer better.

Well actually that is the case. I started using rmDC++ because it offered features I wanted and which weren't available in any other mod I could find at the time. I think that upgrading to a later version now which doesn't offer the same features will leave me with a great number of corrupted partial downloads I'll have to start downloading all over again.

All of which leaves me with the original question still unanswered. Why do I get disconnected right after connecting? How do I contact digimaze without being able to PM him on the actual hub?

I have not blocked anyone, and allowed total access to all music. Am I banned because I need sleep?

Don't worry about the double post, the mods will take care of that.
The reason you were banned or kicked is probably because you don't have 1 GB of Alizée videos in your share (yet :roll: ) as per hub rules. You best talk to Fairytale or digimaze (the hub's operators) about your problem. I'm sure they will understand.

If it's the hub security bot that means there must be a glitch somewhere. Check if any errors were accumulated in the hub text files. Login sessions and stuff like that.. And btw, I still consider a backup a very good method (just in case anything like this will ever happen). :=D:

(For example- if you wanted "1234" as your password, you would put in "!regme 1234")

i had to reinstall my pc (windows) because of a big boot problem (the computer was completely down). because of that, i've lost dc++, my profile and all that (not the alizée stuff).
after all i tried to rejoin dc++. i did all again (install dc++, add alizée "server", nickname, password and register) but it didn't work. i don't receive a confirmation of the password (i tried it with the same nickname and password again).
what can i do? it says that i'm connected but there's nothing (no nicknames on the right and i can't search anything).

Sounds like you need to register:

The first time you connect, you'll need to register. Type in "!regme <password>" in the main chat and wait for a response from an Op. Exit the hub and re-join. You'll be prompted for your password. You can edit your "Favorites" bookmark to store your password information.

In my country the copyright law refers to sharing and comercialising copyrighted stuff, as mostly comercialising. If caught, you can be fined and/or spend from six to one year in jail, depending on the gravity of the case.

Nope. No organisation in Europe is interested of individual persons sharing files.

Only server admins has been arrested sometimes, but often without any good reason.

And I doubt any of those admins really was Alizée fan or if they were, they weren't very well known fans... Of course they can be fans but they aren't interacting with anyone else...

But no, no one has ever arrested for sharing Alizée stuff.

Yep. Since there's no way to BUY the TV performances from the stations, (people here have tried! How great would it be to have each of her appearances in DVD quality? :brow:) can they fault us for recording and sharing them?

Sounds like you need to register:

The first time you connect, you'll need to register. Type in "!regme <password>" in the main chat and wait for a response from an Op. Exit the hub and re-join. You'll be prompted for your password. You can edit your "Favorites" bookmark to store your password information.

It means there is a timeout between your machine and the server which the hub is hosted on. This doesn't mean that the server is down or anything like that, but it means that the connection has been cut between us and the hub. It shouldn't be anything serious. I'm sure it will be up in no time. :)
P.S.: I didn't get this message, I just got the regular connection timeout... message.

If you go to file>settings and then down to the "sharing" options you'll find a box where you can enter your slots number. Check the configuration guides for more help.

I have been trouble connecting to the DC++ server. I have read lots of tutorials and faqs, disabled firewalls, opened ports and the sort. I have over a gig of Alizee files to share and when I connect for the first time, It says "Connected", but it doesn't show any users in the nicknames column, and when i type the regme stuff, nobody responds. Is the hub still alive? What can I do to connect? Thanks!

When it says "Connected" just give it a couple of seconds until your in( or just leave it on until your in ), because the hub is sure slow.

Step One-- put "!regme (Password)" in the dialog box in Main Chat.(WITHOUT the "quotes")

(For example- if you wanted "1234" as your password, you would put in "!regme 1234")

Step Two-- wait for a confimation message from a hub moderator with your login and password information.

(There may not be a hub moderator online when you apply. Please be patient and stay online while waiting for a reply. Thanks for your understanding!)

Step Three- shut down dc++

Step Four- Re-start dc++ and enter your password in the dialogue box when it is requested.

--The password be required every time you visit the hub from now on, unless you enter your password in the appropriate space in your "Favorite Hubs" list: see the FAQ "HOW TO ENABLE THE "AUTO-LOGIN FEATURE" for instructions--

PROMOTIONAL MUSIC VIDEOS are what they play on MTV and other simular stations. Because they are considered "promotional material" by the record companies (who retain all the rights to distribute them), they have traditionally allowed Music Videos to be exchanged between fans as long as no money changes hands.

LIVE TV INTERVIEW AND PERFORMANCE CLIPS have generally been recorded from chat, variety or award shows off of broadcast television and can be distributed in the hub as long as they are not commertially available, and are being exchanged free-of-charge between
collectors. The exchange of archival works that are otherwize unavailable is permissable according to the provisions of the Berne International Copyright Convention.


FAN-CREATED DVDs. These are totally acceptable as long as the CONTENT of the disc conforms to the above guidelines. Be aware, however that a DVD (whether posted as an ISO or as a duplicate of the contents of the disc) does NOT count as part of your "1 GB of music clips" requirement. You must have 1GB of INDIVIDUAL MUSIC CLIPS that can be individually downloaded to qualify. The clips must also have a name that clearly identifies them (Name of Artist and Song Title at least) so other people can tell what they are.


OTHER PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS- this may include promotional photos, sound clips, video edits or fan-created remixes that were either created by yourself, taken from websites or scanned from out-of-print magazines and are presumed to be in the public domain. In all cases, the rights of the copyright holder are to be respected and the item is to be removed upon their request or a request from the operators of this hub.




--In any of these cases, if the copyright holders request an item be removed, we must honor that request or risk being shut down by our service provider, and the user posting the clips risks civil penalties and possible criminal prosecution.--

Q: "WHAT IS ILLEGAL CONTENT?"


A: "ILLEGAL CONTENT" ARE ITEMS NOT TO BE SHARED IN THIS HUB. THEY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



1) Pornography. Since there is no adult-verification feature to this hub, the sharing of pornography is illegal in many countries this hub serves.


2) "Cracked" Programs (or "warez")- This is considered unauthorized distribution of copyrighted materials and is illegal in every country I am aware of.

3) "Ripped" copies of commertial music CDs or movie DVDs- this once again is unauthorised distribution of copyrighted material. The stated LEGAL purpose for peer-to-peer file-sharing applications is to share files that are NOT commertially available or are licensed by the content creator to be freely distributed. Please don't forget that fact.


-- If you are asked to remove an item by an Operator, either remove it or risk being kicked from the hub. Chances are, you are NOT a copyright lawyer, so arguing your point will only get you BANNED--


The best rule of thumb to use is: if there is a question in your mind about whether or not something is OK to share, then DON'T SHARE IT.

Somehow I managed to get 53GB of Alizée files that I am still sharing in the hub. Come back and, like ned suggested, talk to one of the ops to get yourself registered. The stringent requirements and registration is there to keep the hub LEGAL. So please, try again. We really do enjoy adding new members. :mrgreen:

To make things clear, you need 1GB of LEGAL Alizee content to join the hub.

Illegal Alizee content is considered to be:

1) mp3 rips of her CDs

2) Copies of her "En Concert" DVD.

There are more than enough links to legal Alizee content to get your share
up to the required size in just a matter of hours if you have a broadband connection. There is over 8GB of links posted in this thread:

If your share is under-sized you will be "auto-kicked" by the hub software.
There is nothing I or one of the OPS can do about that. Your total share MUST be 2 GB of LEGAL content, at least 1GB of which is required to be Music Vids and Live Clips of Alizee or some other musical artist (we prefer them to be female Pop singers).

We really appreciate getting new members, many of whom are anxious to get started within the hub. We who have been sharing Alizee files for several years understand your passion better than anyone! (lol)

Download some vids from the thread I just provided and I hope to see you in the hub real soon. Send me a PM at the hub and I'll get you squared away ASAP.

After some waiting (think it took 4 days for operator to be around to reg me, nps though) someone saw the registration request, but I was banned for sharing something illegal. I really didn't mean to, and would still really like to join the hub! Is there any way to re-apply for registration, if I no longer share the illegal stuff? (sorry for sharing it in the first place)

I know it is kinda confusing at first...but as like others have posted here..not to mention the rules....if you follow the rules/directions, then you will have no problem. I have downloaded all kinds of Lili related stuff from D++, and I am thankful for the folks sharing. So I do the same and share what I have..which is I think ALMOST everything, if not. So be patient and ask for assistance because all the folks here are outstanding and will help you if needed. We are all together for one purpose..and that is to support our Angel, "Lili". It says the ban is permanent :(. But I just made a mistake, rushed into connecting as soon as possible without reading about any restrictions/rules. Any further suggestions about how I could convince the operators it was a one-time mistake? (and be able to beg them to register me anyway? :D)

If your ban is permanent, your best bet for material is to go to 1alizee.com. They have a large library of files, and some of the files have subtitles to go with them as well.
