I went to the library today and looked at every book they had that had something on Ajaccio and Corsica. Somehow it helped me feel closer to Alizée. Corsica looks beautiful and Ajaccio has an extensive night life. I think I just found my next vacation destination.

None of the books mentioned that there were shrines to Alizée anywhere. They frequently mentioned this guy Napoleon, like he was more important or something.

Anyone else investigated Ajaccio or Corsica to feel closer to Alizée?

Personally i think its very good that you checked some material about Corsica. If i were you, i would have done that already earlier - well, infact i did. And its true, this helps to feel a bit closer to Alizée.

I checked most facts about the island itself, about Ajaccio etc. Heck i even have the anthem of Corsica in my comp. And all this together - sometimes it makes me feel warm from the inside. Also, Corsica is #1 in my list of "i want to spend a vacation in that place" list.

Me too , i feel closer to Alizee when i hear for that island , and the first time that i heard about Ajaccio , was before 9 months (i think) in the history lesson , but in the first i didn't know that alizee was born in there , so i went back to home and found that Alizee was born in there , and that makes me know how much Ajaccio and france is beautiful >>> :D

Like reading about Corsica? try these

http://www.corsica-online.com/geographie/en/182.asp

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/country_profiles/3028038.stm - I never knew about Corsica having its own language. Says they learn in school. Wonder what Alizee sounds like when she speaks it? Sweet as always of course! but it would be interesting to hear her sing using it!

Also, Corsica is #1 in my list of "i want to spend a vacation in that place" list.

it's #1 on the "I wanna get out of the states and live there" list

and i think the corsican language is just a dialect at most of the french language, influenced by neighboring countries like italy
well, i can't exactly say neighboring cuz it's an island, but you know what i mean

A real paradise island. Also for tourists. When i first found out that there are 4 airports (!) in Corsica i was very surprised. Actually... they have more airports in their 64km2 than there are here in my country. Now how wicked is that. :cheesy:

 home sweet home. if thats not paradise on earth then i dont know what is. Native corsicans are so lucky to be living there. I hope they can appreciate it.

Ayan - I did check a small amount of info. on Corsica earlier, but it was not the same as sitting down on the floor of the library in front of the France section and going through every book to find what they had on Corsica and Ajaccio. I'll start a more thorough Internet search now.

The aerial or satellite view of anywhere on earth is interesting because above a certain elevation there is no visual evidence of human influence.

Can you major in French and minor in Corsican? I'm going to do a search to find audio examples of Corsican. Maybe it's like Canadian French is to French - mostly the same with local differences.

Anything to bring me closer to her in my mind, wishing I were closer physically.

It must be difficult for her to stay away from Corsica for long.

3rd July 2004, 01:24
Davidalizee I think you would be almost certain to stay in Ajaccio anyway it is a very small island. While searching for stuff about Corsica I came across loads of stuff about hotels all of those were located in Ajaccio. :D Convertible Golf hmm not sure M3 convertible yes :D but maybe she would think what a show off and not be very impressed. Meeting her at random well odds are not too good 260,000 people live on the island but hey it looks like a great place and just te thought of being in the same area as her is cool. Don't give up maybe it is your destiny to meet up with her. Jaycubed your right I don't think I would be able to compare a dream or thought of Corsica with visiting the place that's incomprehensible.

loveherfromusa
3rd July 2004, 10:28
It doesn't matter if I have been to places like that before. LeetzOr has a point, but it doesn't change my special feeling for Alizée's home. Every beautiful place on that island would be more beautiful if I knew that Alizée could have seen it and felt its beauty.

Jaycubed
5th July 2004, 03:03
it's a very special feeling...like the place is so fond inside your Soul, not only is it such a beautiful place, but it's the home of the wonderful person on the planet. It's a very special feeling, i know exactly what you mean lhfu
