Hi, I was on some ALizee websites, and found an interview...
http://alizee.terramail.pl/english/alizee_wywiady.htm
Would you consider her to be an 'arrogant teenager' from what you know of her?
By the way, this interview is from about 2 years ago...

.... I can be really arrogant (which I am sometimes as well) but I try to be polite and social :) anyhow; does that make me in common arrogant?
I don't think so, Alizée is soo much more social then me .. she simply can not afford it to be arrogant so she isn't.

Knowing only the face she shows on the interviews, she doesn't seem very arrogant to me. But if she was, I wouldn't mind. After all, I was (and maybe still am  ) the most arrogant person you'll ever meet!...but that's in my porteño blood...hehe... :P

I have seen arrogance on TV interviews. Jim Carry is arrogant. Alizee is not. Have you seen the interviews during which the interviewer goes on and on? Alizee waits patiently until the blowhard is done and then speaks very simply. I haven't seen an interview during which Alizee has tried to assert herself or has tried to suppress the interviewer. She is beautiful in body, mind, and heart. (I might be prejudiced. It is possible.)

Have you watched the Fun TV interview yet? From Fun TV:
Alizée (A): I don't care, I don't care! I blew bubbles on the stage and you're going to eat what I've brought back from Japan.
Lucas (L): Seriously, you're going to pay--
A: --Close your eyes!
L: No, it's alright!
A: Close your eyes!!!.

Heh, heh...of course this was all good-natured assertion.... :D

I have watched the Fun TV interview. She is beautiful and patient. I have dealt with teenagers frequently. They are so self-involved, that they couldn't possibly recognize the maturity that Alizee exhibits in her interviews.
Go to a high school or middle school (I'm not sure what the equivalents are in the European system) and listen to the students. She is so far from arrogant considering her age and ability (and beauty) that she is incomparable.
I need to be excused from rationality, I am in love with her.

I just watched the interview again. How could anyone interpret that as arrogant? It was obviously fun. She was having a good time and so was the recipient. She charmed me and that was just on a downloaded video. The guy who ate the seaweed was much closer. How could he refuse?

Couldn't agree more! She's nothing but absolutelly charming in that Fun Tv interview. What really impressed me the most (apart from her presence and sense of humour off course) is how can she be soooo sweet and still take control of the interview. It was just awesome!
And yes. I'm also charmed by the maturity she displays in her interviews. Always a joy to watch, read, or hear.

Can anyone think of a task for her to perform that would test our tolerance? I'm so screwed up by her that I'll bet she could shovel horse shit and look beautiful doing it. I suppose if I saw a candid video of her cussing out the backstage staff or eating raw meat and throwing the bone at the waiter... I'm sorry, I just can't imagine it. I need to keep reminding myself that she isn't perfect. I mean, I'm sure she isn't, right?
Greycap

"eating raw meat and throwing the bone at the waiter... " *rotfl* funny restaurants you have in oregon  no, she isn't perfect, at last she's human and how's the saying going: 'errare humanum est'
loveherfromusa
14th July 2003, 13:39
"To err is human, to really screw things up, you must use a computer." I haven't been to any of those restaurants, I was just trying to imagine something gross for her to do.
I'd be willing to spend time with her (24 hours/day 7 days/week from now until the universe ends) to see if I could discover anything about her that would ruin my feelings towards her.
Let me know if that job has any openings.
Greycap
14th July 2003, 13:44
why are you just so obsessed to find anything that could possibly ruin your feelings?? what's the problem with being in love or admire her?
loveherfromusa
14th July 2003, 14:07
I don't think you really got the message I was trying to convey. It is because of my feelings towards her that I think it would take so long for me to find anything wrong. I wouldn't really be looking - except at her. I don't want to find anything that could ruin my feelings. I'm just saying that if we are to really find out what she is like, one of us must spend a very long time with her. I am willing to make that sacrifice for the good of the whole group of admirers and lovers.
Greycap
14th July 2003, 14:16
*lol* i appreciate it ;) but it just sounded in the last few comments of you as if you were trying hard to find anything that's "wrong" on her. and that made me thinking its because you want to find something to show yourself she's not superiour....know what i mean?
loveherfromusa
16th July 2003, 09:01
No problem there - she is superior. She is able to enjoy going in front of crowds of people and singing or being interviewed. She looks comfortable being sexy. She waves to the crowd. She loves what she does. If I walked onto a stage with thousands of people yelling, I can't imagine what I would do. I admire her for her composure, for her talent, for her beauty, and for what she does to my mind and my feelings.

Yeah, definitely I liked this part.. I comment her attitude by willing of interviewer to suppress her making behave as he planned, but that is very uncomfortable for her cause she is Lion and dislike being suppressed even in small amount..
She feeling very uncomfortable when someone try to play with her and she have to suppress the subject by herself or she gets very bad mood... :) You know..

I don't know, from some videos that I've watched, she's very shy and keeps to herself. We all have different experiences, and thus make judgements and thoughts on what we have experienced. Now, she might not know a lot about let's say politics, or descrimination or whataver because she really hasn't experienced that as far as I know. I think maybe that's why she wants a simple man as a husband, not a singer. So that she can experience everything that she hasn't experienced already. For saying that, it shows that she isn't ignorant.
And when it comes to ignorance, we all are!!! None of us know shit even if you think you know a lot.

She strikes me as VERY shy not aggressive. She looks like she keeps to herself a lot. Then again, I don't know her so I can't say for sure. Just my observation.
One thing is for sure, when she is on stage, she KNOWS how to play to the crowd (specifically the men) so trust me, Alizee has "assetts" and knows how to use them.
Credit her for being an INTELLIGENT performer.

Perhaps, you're right, but I dont think that she is very shy, she is modest, some aggressive, obstinate...Off course not arrogant, in natural, I heard of her as of being friendly person and even if someones says about arrogance, it is only means that every person has his self-confidence and sometimes annoying reporters can make crazy everyone...

She doing very well, but it is very difficult to distinguish her own performing and Mylene contribution to it, so I can't say directly of her intelligence from it... but the general comprehencion gives me expression of her as of much more deep person than she is generally recognized...

Modest. Shy. Humble.
I agree she is all of those things. But she is also:
Daring. Intelligent. Creative.
Her "shy innoncence" makes her all that much more sexy. When she wears those sexy clothes but seems shy, well, it definitely kicks her "sexy" factor up a few notches.

I am sure Mylene is giving her tips but Alizee does not strike me as a "lemming". I am sure she has a good grasp on what she wants to be and how she wants herself portrayed. She wouldn't move the way she did if she didn't feel like it. Trust me, as a performer I don't care WHAT people tell me to do on stage, if I don't want to or don't like it, I WON'T do it.

I agree with both of these statements.
I read the article about that interview and i understand how the interviewer might have felt. But i also understand alizee. Maybe she didnt felt comfortable there. As alizee herself once said, she is very shy. She hates photosessions and makes them only, when photographer is a nice person. I belive its the same with interviews.
You shouldnt call alizee arrogant, when u've only met her once.

I've seen many arrogant teenages (hell, I can be one sometimes), and I'm very familiar with the arrogant vibe. Most of the time I can tell if a person's arrogant the second I first see/hear him/her. Alizée does not give off this vibe.
Brian_USA
24th November 2003, 12:02
I agree too. There are many attributes about Alizee that I believe I have a good handle on:
1. She is shy but not reclusive. She enjoys fame and appreciates her fans.
2. She is beautiful and she knows it but she does not let it go to her head.
3. She is classy and sexy but not "slutty".
4. She is not arrogant.
5. She understands how to entertain.
6. She more than likely cherishes her "private" time, as most famous people do.
7. She has that "little girl" innocence to her that is very attractive. She almost gives off the "if I met you and I liked you, we could possibly date" kind of vibe. Men relish that.
I think it's that last vibe that she gives off that really solidifies her fan base. While every single guy in here, I am sure of this, dreams of being with her (count me out because I just can't see me with a famous person), they all know they will not. But Alizee's charm and inviting personality makes everyone, at least for a brief moment, feel as they are the most important person to her.
No one other quality can be more important to an artist than a direct connection to the fans. Many famous people have fans, but from my experience with you all, few have such a loyal and great bunch as Alizee. Again, credit her, but credit yourselves too.

Let's face it. She has SOME arrogance. She HAS to in order to perform. It might be taken as arrogance when really it's a lot of confidence. I dunno, in every instance I've heard her speak, she has always been quite humble. She doesn't like giving interviews and when she feels she is being pressured, then I can imagine she could lose her patience quite easily.
